When he asked what she had bought, Clara Grant was suddenly reminded of the birthday gift.
She turned to face him. "Oh, right. What kind of gift should we get for Dad? I wandered around for ages but couldn't find anything suitable."
"So you went shopping with Sarah Shelby just to buy a gift? All right, you don't have to worry about it. I'll take care of everything."
"Really? Okay, then." Clara figured she didn't really know her father-in-law's tastes anyway, so she just nodded.
Remembering she had something to explain to him, she started to speak again. "Seth, today I..."
She had only managed a few words when Seth Quinn stood up with a smile. "It's been a long day, and I'm a little tired. I'm going to take a shower first."
