At the Grant family home, Cedric Grant finished his breakfast. He wiped his mouth with a napkin, tossed it onto the table, and stood up to leave without a word.
"Cedric, leaving so early? Are you heading to the office?" Jean Jarvis suddenly called out to him, her voice carefully neutral.
"Yes, to the office. I told you yesterday, it's been busy lately." Cedric Grant's expression was placid as he spoke, and then he walked out of the dining room.
Behind him, Jean Jarvis gripped her chopsticks so tightly it seemed they might snap.
'He's obviously going to the Quinn family to clear up that "misunderstanding" for Clara, yet he can lie to my face so brazenly!'
A moment later, after hearing a car start outside, Jean Jarvis stood up and went to the door. Hiding behind it, she peeked out and watched Cedric Grant drive away.
She stepped outside and stood on the veranda, staring at the front gate. Cedric Grant was already gone.
