He looked up, and Clara Grant was already in front of him in a flash. She tossed the first-aid kit in front of him. "Shoot, shoot, shoot. Why don't you take care of this yourself? I'm out of time."
'How could I have forgotten? Mom and Cherie are still at the hospital waiting for me to bring them dinner. It's all this damn beast's fault! Why did he have to get the sudden urge to have me treat him to a meal?'
'*She* had eaten, sure, but now there was no way she'd have time to cook for Mom and Cherie.'
'Whatever. I'll just have to buy some takeout and bring it to them.'
With that thought, Clara Grant turned to leave. As she walked, she pulled out her phone, getting ready to call her mother.
But before she could even reach the foyer, Seth Quinn's leisurely voice sounded from behind her. "In a hurry to bring dinner to the hospital?"
Clara Grant stopped in her tracks. She turned and looked at him, astonished. "How do you know that?"
