But at the last moment, he suddenly gripped her arms, his expression unreadable. "Let's wait for our wedding night. I'll have you then."
Nora Ainsworth's true anxiety finally subsided. She looked at Leon Lynch, unsure what to say.
He got up. "I'll wait for you outside. Get dressed."
The door slid shut, and Nora Ainsworth began to dress, putting on one piece of clothing after another.
Just as she finished dressing, her phone rang.
She had a sinking feeling it was Quentin Grant.
She took out her phone and checked. Sure enough, it was him.
She answered, pressing the phone to her ear.
"Have you forgotten what I told you?" His voice was as captivating as ever.
"I haven't forgotten. I've never forgotten. Or maybe I just don't dare to forget. But you can coerce me with threats and promises, and my mom is threatening me all the same. So you tell me, what am I supposed to do?" A hint of resentment tinged her voice.
"You know what you have to do."
