"You're adopting a child? Aren't you handling this for someone else? Did you bring the application and proof of income? Give them to me," the director said.
"We are helping someone else adopt. My father-in-law isn't clear on the situation," Cecilia Adler said, taking out an envelope.
Jim Quincy snatched it from her, but before he could even look at it, Cecilia Adler swiftly snatched it back and placed it in the director's hands.
Jim Quincy: "..." 'This damn girl!'
The director said, "You two, come with me to handle the paperwork."
Ian Quincy and Cecilia Adler followed him.
Mr. and Mrs. Quincy were left behind, looking at each other.
"Why didn't you stop them?" Mrs. Quincy asked.
Mr. Quincy: "I already tried to snatch the application. How else was I supposed to stop them? You didn't stop them either, did you?" He then asked Uncle and Aunt Linton, "You two came to see a child. If you're not even going to get to know her, are you just going to look at others?"
