Jie Jingchen was boiling water. Seeing Qin Mei come in, he said, "The water's hot. Go get the bucket."
"Jie Jingchen, these are the blueprints I drew. Take a look." Qin Mei handed two sheets of drawings to Jie Jingchen.
Jie Jingchen took them and studied them carefully. Truthfully, he didn't understand. Before he could even ask, Qin Mei inquired eagerly, "Well? Do you get it?"
"No," Jie Jingchen answered honestly, shaking his head.
Qin Mei frowned. "How could you not? I drew them very clearly and labeled everything."
Qin Mei brought over a small stool and sat next to Jie Jingchen. She pointed to the blueprints and began to explain. While Jie Jingchen hadn't understood from the drawings alone, he got it once Qin Mei talked him through them.
When she finished, Qin Mei's throat was parched. She swallowed hard and looked at Jie Jingchen. "Get it now?"
"I get it." Jie Jingchen nodded. He wasn't pretending; he truly understood. "Go get some water."
