Naomi Kenway was Ian's mother. Mr. Holloway just gave a simple greeting, then pulled out a math test and handed it to Ian. "Well then, you can work on this for fun."
Ian Shaw pouted, seeming a little unhappy. He said, "Ian knows how to do the problems. Ian can do a very good job."
Mr. Holloway chuckled cheerfully and turned to Naomi Kenway. "Your son is so lively and cute. A clever little imp!"
Naomi Kenway smiled as well.
Mr. Holloway went to the restroom at one point, leaving Naomi Kenway in the classroom to watch the children do their problems. They weren't whispering to each other or passing notes; every child's face was a picture of concentration.
As Naomi Kenway passed by Ian Shaw, she saw him writing furiously. She paused for a moment, because Ian was writing so incredibly fast. His movements were so fluid and smooth, it made one wonder if he even had time to think.
Three minutes into the pop quiz, Ian Shaw had already finished all the questions.
