Chapter 5 - Chapter-5: Rest Of Them & Daily Life

"I am Heracles, nice to meet you. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you are Magni, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am. Nice to meet you."

"I apologize for disturbing you while you're eating, but I couldn't wait any longer to meet you. I haven't seen anyone else challenge Aidoneus in terms of strength besides myself."

"Ah, that matter. Yes, but I wasn't myself at the time, I don't even remember what I did."

"Too bad. I would like to have a match with you. Of course, if you're not in a condition to compete, there's nothing we can do."

"No, I would like to have a match with you. I've started to understand my powers. We can arrange a match soon."

"Alright, Magni. I'll ask Aidoneus to arrange a match for the two of us. You can use your full strength in the match."

"So be it, Heracles. Let's have a good match!" Magni said after Heracles.

Sol suddenly appeared next to Magni.

"Was that Heracles!?" he asked excitedly.

"When did you..."

"Magni accepted Heracles's request for a match," Han interjected.

"What did you say you did!"

"Are you crazy! That guy has a 2-year unbeaten streak. 16 wins, 1 draw in 17 matches. He got that draw against Hermaios. Heracles and Hermaios were so exhausted that they couldn't get up for 5 days after the match ended. This is what I've heard."

Magni, with a smile on his face,

"I don't know how fast Hermaios is or how strong Heracles is. All I know is that he is a powerful, tough opponent in my way. And that shows I need to surpass him."

"It's your decision, but don't forget you still don't control your powers. If you want to learn how to control yourself when it comes to speed, come to me, maybe I can teach you a few things."

"Thanks, Sol. I'll keep that in mind."

After lunch, Magni went out to the school garden. There were people from upper classes around. Despite the size of the school, there were a maximum of 20 students. Most looked familiar, but some looked different. Heracles was chatting with a giant woman with white hair. Magni went up to them and greeted them.

The white-haired girl said, "Ah, you must be Magni! I'm Skadi. Nice to meet you," and crouched down to shake his hand.

"Nice to meet you. May I ask something if you don't mind?"

"Of course! No problem."

"Are you from the giant race, or does your height come from your Cosmyth?"

"You are partially right, Magni. My mother was from the giant race. So, I am half-giant. My Cosmyth comes from my mother's lineage. I am the Heir of the goddess Skadi, who shares the same name as me."

Magni was surprised. It was his first time seeing someone from another race. Hybrids were not well received by humans. Heracles,

"We plan to marry Skadi when school finishes," he said, holding the giant girl's hand.

After chatting a bit more, Magni went to talk to other students. The person who caught his attention the most was Gullin Tanni. He was the Heir of Heimdall. He could see the future and the place of every living being in the universe. He was also Scandinavian. He didn't feel culturally alienated. The Scandinavian region had been greatly weakened after the death of the Creator Odin. The Scandinavian Gods had chosen Thor as the new Creator. Unfortunately, with the death of Thor as well, the Scandinavian region completely collapsed. Cosmyth users (mostly young people) left the region. Magni's family was among these people. Gods did not communicate much with humans. Humans were aware of the existence of gods. If a god died, mourning would be declared in the entire region, and sometimes even worldwide. The last god humanity saw was 17 years ago. So, it seemed the gods had stopped visiting the world. Gullin and Magni talked until the end of the lunch break. They got along well.

When it was time for class, everyone dispersed into the classrooms. Magni came to the class and sat down at his desk. Urania was chatting with the girls, and Amor was trying to squeeze in between them. Han approached Magni.

"Are you okay? How do you feel?"

"I'm perfectly fine, the infirmary's healing power is extraordinary. Thanks for asking, Han."

"Ah, no problem. After all, you are our captain. Right?"

"You're right, I feel even better now than before."

"I hope you get your Cosmyth under control soon. I don't want to be defeated by them next time."

"I'll try," Magni said.

Han returned to his seat. Their current class was Mythical Creatures. The teacher entered.

"Hello everyone, my name is Mina. Your Mythical Creatures class will be with me. By the way, I am not a Cosmyth user like you," she said. The class was surprised. Someone who is not a Cosmyth user at a school like this? Sol,

"Teacher, I want to ask you something."

"Of course, Sol."

"Could you possibly be a magic user?"

"Correct guess! Yes, I am a sorceress, but don't confuse this with what you see in TV shows. The art of magic is as difficult to learn and master as it is powerful."

Urania, "And will you teach us?"

"Yes, but in your 2nd year. It's too early for you to learn magic right now. Unless you have innate talent."

The classmates looked at each other. None of them were inclined toward magic. Mina continued the lecture.

In the lecture; Minotaurs, Sphinxes, Gargoyles, Hybrids, Giants, and Fairies were discussed.

They learned that Minotaurs have high-level muscle strength and endurance but are not very intelligent.

They learned that Sphinxes have limited mobility, are highly intelligent, and generally guard a place or a person, doing so with riddles.

They learned that Gargoyles are annoying, low-intelligence stone statues.

Hybrids could be a combination of any two races. They were one of the most dangerous creatures. They could carry the abilities and characteristics of both races. For example, if a Minotaur and a human or a Sphinx had a relationship, the resulting child could have both the Minotaur's strength and endurance and the intelligence of the other race.

Giants stood out due to their wisdom from their long lifespans and the incredible muscle strength that came from their size.

Fairies are divided into good and evil. These small creatures are pure magic power. Only gods or a few witches could perform stronger magic than them.

Good fairies heal those in need of help, increase their luck, and do everything they can to assist them.

Evil fairies cast illusions, bad luck, and curses.

Fairies cannot choose to be good or evil. This factor is determined at birth.

At the end of the day, Magni wearily threw himself onto the bus. Using his Cosmyth for the first time and attending classes he had no prior knowledge of had challenged him. Urania sat in the empty seat next to him.

"Thank you, Magni. If it weren't for you, I would have suffered more."

"It's nothing, if I could have, I would have done it sooner," Magni said with a smile on his face.

He had made good friends today. Urania, Han, Sol, Heracles... He couldn't wait to tell his family what had happened. He was a Cosmyth user now too. On the way home, they talked with Urania about what had happened. The funniest incident was Luna beating up Amor. The two of them laughed a lot about this incident. They both agreed that Amor deserved it. Magni was starting to get attached to Urania without even realizing it. The reason this was happening so quickly was one of Urania's Cosmyth powers. People she established an emotional connection with and came into contact with started to become attached to her. This would cause problems later on, but no one could predict it. After an enjoyable and pleasant conversation, Urania got off the bus. Magni, as always, was left alone again. He put on his headphones and watched his surroundings. After a while, he arrived home. Tired and exhausted, he knocked on the door. His sister opened the door, holding high school books.

"Welcome, come inside. Mom bought your books for you. Tomorrow we're going to enroll you in the same high school as me," she said with a worried tone.

"What!" he said and rushed inside.

He came to his mother, who was cooking in the kitchen.

"Mom! What do you mean we're going to enroll me in Thrud's high school tomorrow?"

"Ah, Magni. You don't have a Cosmyth. I didn't want to break your spirit. That's why I didn't say anything about you going to that school."

"But I have a Cosmyth! And I made new friends, the teachers really liked me! You can't take me out of school! This is completely crazy. Besides, if you didn't want me to go, why did you let me enroll in that school in the first place?" Magni said.

His mother dropped the plates in her hand; and Thrud dropped the books.

Both shouted "What!!!" at the same time.
