Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Jiro sighed when he heard his two daughters' request. Jiro himself still wanted to have a son, but his wife did not want to get pregnant again. Jiro could not force his will on her.

"Well, well, you two are in complete agreement. But it's a shame your mother doesn't want to have any more children. You know, the hospital is very far away in the city. We have to go to the city, which takes two hours on foot and one hour by cart. Your mother doesn't want to take the risk during childbirth, which could endanger the baby because of the long journey," explained Jiro gloomily while continuing to eat the apple Jena had given him.

Jeslin, who heard this, chuckled. Why would they need a doctor when her brother was a genius doctor skilled in all fields of medicine?

"Father, haven't we told you about our lives after you two left us? Basically, after we managed to escape and move to another country, we worked hard to pay for our schooling until we graduated in our respective fields. Jena became a doctor and her abilities were recognized by the country at that time. If it's just to help with the delivery, that's very easy. My sister is also an expert in surgery, even having her own hospital and laboratory to facilitate the creation of medicines. She prefers to be in the laboratory, immersed in her inventions, creating various medicines for various diseases. As for me, I prefer the field of technology; I create things that will help in the future, such as robots and other smart machines. So, Father, you don't need to worry; we will help Mother during the delivery process," Jeslin explained at length.

Jiro, who heard Jeslin's explanation, felt very proud that his two daughters had become successful, but at the same time, Jiro also felt guilty for having made his two daughters suffer since childhood.

"Forgive Dad and Mom, dear. If only Dad wasn't the heir to the clan, maybe we could have accompanied you until you were successful," said Jiro gloomily with teary eyes.

Jena, seeing her father's mood worsen, immediately tried to cheer him up.

"Father, don't dwell on it. That's in the past. Now we're all together, so let's just live with what fate has in store for us," said Jena, looking at her father's sad face.

"That's right, Father. We are both very grateful to be reunited with you. So don't be sad anymore. We'd better go out now before Mom yells at us to come eat," said Jeslin as she helped her father get out of bed.

Jena opened the door so her father could leave immediately. The three of them left Jiro's room.

Jira, who saw the scene between her father and her sister, immediately frowned.

"Huh, you two... why do you only care about Dad? Mom is sad to see that you don't care about her. No one even helps Mom cook!" complained Jira with a pitiful expression.

Jena, who heard her mother's complaint, smiled slightly.

"Forgive us, Mom. I can't cook. If I'm in the kitchen, I'm afraid I'll burn the kitchen down or make the food taste bad and just waste food. If you get sick or tired from cooking, I will treat you. So don't worry if you get sick. I love you, Mom," said Jena as she hugged her mother tightly.

Jira, who had been upset, was immediately moved by the affectionate words from her eldest daughter, who was usually quiet.

"Yes, Mom, forgive us. It's not that we don't want to help you in the kitchen, but we're afraid of messing up your cooking. The important thing is that I love you very much. Mom is the best!" said Jeslin as she hugged her mother too.

"What does 'is the best' mean?" asked Jira, confused.

"That means 'the best mother,'" Jeslin replied, patting her forehead for using a foreign language.

"Ah, my daughters are so sweet," Jira said with a smile.

"All right, let's eat before the food gets cold," Jira continued, taking a plate, filling it with food, and giving it to her husband.

"Thank you, my wife," said Jiro. Jira nodded her head shyly.

Jira then took food for herself, followed by Jena and Jeslin. They ate while listening to Jeslin's story about how they saved people and got a bag of gold coins.

Jiro and Jira were stunned when Jena took out a bag of gold coins in front of them. In this day and age, getting even one gold coin was very difficult, yet now in front of them was a bag of gold coins that their two daughters had obtained so easily.

Jiro was speechless. Jira's hands were even shaking as she took the bag of coins because she couldn't believe it.

They were rich. They would never be poor again. They could build a house and buy warm clothes in the city.

Jira opened the bag and the glitter of gold immediately dazzled their eyes. Jiro and Jira laughed happily and then quickly closed the bag again while looking around, worried that someone would see them with so much money.

"Jena, you keep the money. This money is yours, so you have to keep it safe," said Jira as she returned the bag of gold coins to Jena's palm.

Jena was surprised to see her mother refusing to accept the money.

"Mom, you can use this money freely. Why are you giving it back to me?" asked Jena, confused.

"We gave this money to you to meet our needs. Winter will arrive in a few months. We have to build a house, buy warm clothes and blankets. I entrust everything to Father and Mother. From now on, we will earn the money, and Mother will take care of the household needs. I don't want to worry about all that," said Jena firmly.

Jeslin nodded in agreement with her sister's words.

"Is that okay?" asked Jira hesitantly.

"It's okay, Mom. If this money is enough to buy more land in the city, just buy it. I want to build a laboratory and open a hospital as a source of income for us," continued Jena.

"So we're moving to the city?" asked Jira.

"If we want to start a business, it's better to do it in the city. But if Mom feels it's too hard to leave this village, it's okay. We'll build a house here first," replied Jena calmly.

Jira looked at her daughter, who seemed more mature and calm.

"What do you think, Dad?" Jeslin asked for his opinion.

"I don't know. I'll discuss it with your mother first," Jiro replied hesitantly. He felt it would be difficult to leave his hometown because the people here were very kind and often helped them when they were short of food.

"Dad, let's do this. We'll check out the city market first and look for business opportunities. If the opportunity is good and there is a two-story shop for sale at a low price in a strategic location, we will buy it. You focus on building a house here first. Managing the shop will be our responsibility," Jena suggested.

"Okay, that's fine," Jiro nodded in agreement. Jira smiled contentedly.

"I'll design the house later. Dad, find a skilled craftsman so the work can be finished quickly," Jeslin said enthusiastically.

"Then let's split the coins in half, my wife, so each of us has some money," Jiro said.

Jira nodded and immediately divided the gold coins in half.
