Chapter 10
The Gulosseadi — in other words, Ship Island.
At this moment, inside Ship Island.
Two figures were streaking at high speed toward the center of the ship, not daring to pause for even a second.
"Scratch—!"
But one of them suddenly came to a halt.
"Luffy, what's wrong?"
Seeing Luffy stop abruptly, Hancock halted as well and asked in surprise.
"I don't know."
Luffy scratched his head, looking puzzled: "I just feel like there's someone nearby who really pisses me off. I have to go beat the crap out of him!!"
Saying this, Luffy immediately veered away from Hancock and dashed in a different direction.
Hancock called out anxiously: "But Sandersonia and the others—"
She wanted to remind him that the priority was the mission, but Luffy was already gone.
"Sigh~"
Hancock shook her head with a sigh. Worried about Luffy's safety, she still chased after him.
…
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Gion stopped walking, barely containing her anger as she spoke: "Kam Saint-sama, are you sure you're not just leading us in circles?"
Ever since they landed on the Gulosseadi, Kam had been guiding them around in loops!
She seriously suspected Kam was directionally challenged. The other Marines wanted to speak up but didn't dare because of his status.
"Hmm?!"
The moment she said it, the atmosphere turned awkward.
Hina anxiously tugged at Gion's sleeve, knees slightly bent, ready to kneel and beg for mercy at any second.
Tsuru and the others looked at the now-stopped Kam, then at Gion, their faces full of pity. Offending a Celestial Dragon like this? Wasn't that just looking for death in the bathroom with the lights on?!
Kizaru kept his usual sleazy demeanor and drawled: "Ora ora~"
"Hmm?"
Kam halted, turned around, and glared furiously at Gion: "Are you questioning me?"
Gion lowered her head: "I'm not questioning. I just hope the person leading us has a little more awareness."
Smack!
Kam slapped her across the face without hesitation.
"Grind grind grind!"
Gion felt the burning sting on her cheek, silver teeth clenched tight.
Since she'd already offended a Celestial Dragon, she went all in: "Respected Kurukured Kam Saint-sama, you may not have noticed, but you've been leading us in circles! If we keep following you, we won't find World even next month!
"According to Marine intelligence, he's planning to attack Marineford. We need to find and defeat him as soon as possible!"
"Hiss…! It's over. She's done for."
Seeing Gion keep talking, all the Marines shook their heads. This was straight-up offending a Celestial Dragon!
"How the hell has Gion survived this long with that personality?"
Kam also felt his head throbbing. If he didn't circle around, how was he supposed to find King Luffy? If he didn't bring them along for the circles, what if they killed World first?
"Vice Admiral Gion, do you see that giant cannon on the island?"
After thinking for a moment, Kam asked: "Let me ask you—if that kind of cannon bombarded Mariejois, what would happen?"
Gion scoffed disdainfully: "Just a mere cannonball."
"Just a mere cannonball?"
Kam found it laughable: "Indeed, it's just a cannonball. But if you add World's Multiply-Multiply Fruit ability and increase the power 100 times, is it still 'just' a cannonball?"
"This…"
Gion was immediately speechless.
Kam pressed on: "And let me ask you, Vice Admiral Gion—do you think it's easier for the Navy to defeat World, or for World to fire that cannon?
"Are you certain whether the cannon has a remote trigger?
"Are you certain this entire ship doesn't have a self-destruct mechanism?"
"I… I…"
Gion was rendered completely mute. She couldn't confirm any of those things.
"Hmph! I couldn't care less if World wants to bombard Marineford, but he also plans to target Mariejois!"
Kam kept bullshitting relentlessly: "You say I'm leading you in circles?
"Fine! I'll be direct—yes, I'm deliberately leading you in circles! But while circling, I'm also searching for any transport pipes for cannonballs, connection lines, or self-destruct devices."
"Hmm?!"
The Marines' eyes suddenly lit up. What Kam said made perfect sense.
Their intelligence was limited—they only knew World planned to attack Marineford, but they had no idea of the specific method.
Now, thinking about the massive cannon on Ship Island combined with Kam's explanation, it clicked.
"This subordinate knows her crime!" Gion knelt down and apologized.
Kam thought for a moment and said: "This Saint is magnanimous and won't punish you. But you have to do me a favor."
"What is it?" Gion asked.
"When we first landed, I noticed a straw-hat-wearing guy following Boa Hancock. I just remembered—he's the Straw Hat kid who punched a Celestial Dragon a year ago."
At this point, Kam turned to Kizaru: "If I remember correctly, the Admiral who went out to deal with him back then was you, right?"
"It was this old man, yes." Kizaru nodded.
Kam's voice boomed with command: "The dignity of the Celestial Dragons cannot be trampled! Vice Admiral Gion—I order you to go kill the Straw Hat kid!"
He had originally planned to wait for Luffy to appear, but he suddenly thought—why not take the initiative?!
"Are you looking for me?"
At that moment, a slightly confused voice came from the distance, accompanied by the "whoosh whoosh" sound of rubber bands slicing through the air.
"Hmm?!"
"This sound is—"
Kam turned around, no time to be shocked.
Not far away, a man wearing a straw hat was rocketing straight toward them.
"Pirate—Monkey D. Luffy!!"
"Kekekekekeke! Truly heaven—"
Boom!
Before Kam could finish his delighted laugh, a fist the size of a sandbag smashed toward him.
With a deafening "BOOM!"
Kam's entire body shot backward like an arrow loosed from a bow.
"Crash…"
The wall collapsed, dust and smoke filled the air. The entire scene fell deathly silent.
…
…
Fake!
How could this be?
Impossible!
These words flashed through the minds of Vice Admirals like Hina, Gion, Tsuru, and the others. They weren't shocked that a Celestial Dragon like Kam had been hit—they were shocked by the attacker's technique!
With their strength, they hadn't sensed the attack at all. If it had come from a top-tier powerhouse, fine.
But the attacker was someone they knew extremely well—Garp's grandson: Monkey D. Luffy.
There was no way his strength could be this terrifying!
Gulp~
Hina swallowed hard, glancing at Kizaru—only to find him wearing the same "seen a ghost" expression.
Whoosh!
Luffy retracted his stretched rubber arm, brows slightly raised as he looked toward the dust cloud: "I think I just bumped into someone? Hope I didn't kill him…"
Crash!
Kam shoved the rubble off himself, pulled his dented head free, and dazedly looked at the grinning man not far away.
What the hell?
Who am I?
Where am I?
Kam was completely out of it!
That punch from Luffy just now had nearly shattered every bone in his body. But looking at Luffy's casual demeanor—this seemed to be just a casual hit!
But right now, King Luffy shouldn't be this strong at all!?
