Chapter 213 - Chapter 213: Borrowing a Name

A huge and blazing pillar of fire surged forth like it was covering the sky and earth. Under these violent flames, the guards scattering in all directions found it difficult even to breathe; the air they inhaled into their chests was dry and scorching.

The Fate Titan facing the pillar of fire head-on was under even greater pressure. The attack came too fiercely to dodge—there was no way at all. It could only raise both arms and confront the flames directly.

Boom! The instant it came into contact with the fire pillar, the Fate Titan's body ignited explosively. The flesh on its body turned into fuel, burning madly. In an instant, the entire Titan became a blazing giant engulfed in flames.

Inside the nape of the Fate Titan, Yago also felt the terrifying heat of those flames—the piercing pain and suffocating sensation. The fire raged, and the oxygen in the air was nearly consumed.

The Fate Titan's body continued to burn. Large chunks of flesh were quickly incinerated, even exposing its grim white skeleton. What horrified Yago even more was that the hardened sphere containing Lara Tybur, which he was holding in his hand, was slowly melting.

This fire could even melt hardening?!

Just as Yago struggled to endure, the source of the flames was revealed. A Titan with a deformed head was seen crouching on all fours on the ground.

Why call its head deformed? Upon closer inspection, the Titan's head looked like a gourd—wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. Above the nose, its head was sharp and thin, yet its mouth was absurdly large, like an upside-down sack.

From within that gaping mouth, flames continuously spewed out.

The Fate Titan seemed no longer able to withstand the scorching fire. Its massive body collapsed within the flames.

Seeing this, the fire-breathing Titan gradually reduced the intensity of its flames. As the last flicker of fire extinguished, the entire world seemed to fall silent.

The fire-breathing Titan closed its mouth. Without the glow of flames illuminating it, its appearance became clearer. Aside from the deformed head, the most striking feature was probably its pair of blood-red eyes.

The Titan lying on the ground stood up. Its fourteen-meter-tall body was still imposing. If one approached the fire-breathing Titan, they might catch a faint apple-like scent—soldiers from Paradis Island would recognize this smell immediately.

Gas! The core energy source of the Vertical Maneuvering Equipment was actually appearing on a Titan.

That's right—if gas had a color, everyone would see the extremely high concentration of gas contained within the fire-breathing Titan's mouth.

Looking at the Fate Titan again, the Titan lying on the ground was in a truly miserable state. Nearly its entire body had turned into charred black coal, wisps of smoke rising from it.

Bill loosened his collar; the heat in the air had not completely dissipated. Seeing the Fate Titan fall, Bill sneered and looked at the stunned fire-breathing Titan, saying,

"Not bad, Newt. No wonder the master let a coward like you obtain the power of the Crimson Flame. Heh, the Crimson Flame Titan."

The guards who had not fled were shouted at by Bill from the top floor of the villa, ordering them to rescue the War Hammer Titan.

Several guards exchanged glances, and in the end, one of them stepped forward.

The guard approached Lara Tybur, who had fallen from the Fate Titan's grasp.

A hardened mass, covered in cracks and deformed in shape, lay on the ground. Inside, Lara Tybur was in an even more miserable condition.

Aside from the cracks caused by the Fate Titan's grip, there was also the damage from the flames spewed by what Bill called the Crimson Flame Titan.

Damage? How was it caused? As mentioned earlier, the flames from the Crimson Flame Titan could melt hardening—not only the surface hardening, but Lara Tybur's hardening had begun melting from the inside as well.

So now, Lara inside the hardening looked extremely miserable. Her once fair skin was scalded red, her hair stuck together, and there were even large blisters on her face and hands.

Seemingly noticing the guards' arrival, Lara Tybur decisively released her hardening.

"Pfft, cough cough cough." The moment she left the hardening, Lara Tybur's entire body was soaked. She opened her mouth and spat out a large mouthful of liquid, then began coughing violently.

Faint steam slowly rose from her body as the power of the Titan began repairing her scalded form.

Several guards hurriedly supported the exhausted Lara Tybur, preparing to leave. But the commotion behind them drew their attention.

A patch of charred flesh began to bulge continuously. Then, before the guards' horrified eyes, an arm suddenly broke through the charcoal-like flesh and stretched out.

"Hah! Fresh air really is wonderful." Yago breathed deeply and said with emotion.

Noticing the horrified gazes not far away, Yago even raised his hand and waved. "Oh, hello there."

Lara Tybur seemed somewhat agitated. She shouted loudly, "Who exactly are you?!"

Yago looked at Lara and smiled lightly, raising both hands.

"Me? Want to know who I am? Then listen carefully. I will be Marley's nightmare—the host of the Attack Titan and the Founder Ymir's power, Eren Yeager!"

"Eren Yeager!?" Lara Tybur stared fixedly at Yago's face, as if trying to carve it into her memory.

"Sorry about that, Eren. Borrowing your name for a bit." (Some Eren: Achoo!???)

Bill did not hear what Yago said. He only saw that Yago was completely unharmed? What was going on? The Crimson Flame Titan's fire could even melt hardening. It would be one thing if this guy wasn't injured—but how was he still so lively?

"Newt! Burn him!" Bill roared at the Crimson Flame Titan.

The Crimson Flame Titan glanced back, hesitated for a moment, then lowered its body again and opened its massive mouth toward Yago.

Inside its mouth, one could faintly see openings on both sides of the inner walls.

"Run!!" Several guards half-dragged, half-carried Lara Tybur away in a panic. Yago did not move to stop them. He was not yet confident he could take the War Hammer Titan out of this manor. What other secrets were hidden within this estate? Were there more Titans lurking?

But Yago was not without gain. The blood-stained dagger in his trench coat pocket could bring him brand-new power. The power of the War Hammer held no small attraction for him.

Yago knew none of this. Golden arcs of lightning enveloped him once again. Amid the surging steam, crimson eyes revealed themselves once more.

Gas condensed at one of the inner mouth openings, then was violently expelled. Sparks suddenly erupted from the opening on the other side, igniting the gas. A terrifying pillar of fire once again surged toward the Fate Titan, covering the sky and earth.

"Heh, come on!" Yago sneered from within the nape.

The Fate Titan suddenly lowered its body, gathered strength, and then charged directly at the Crimson Flame Titan—facing the pillar of fire head-on.

"Idiot!" Bill sneered. But before his laughter finished, he froze.

A cracked hardened shield was raised high in the Fate Titan's hand—it was clearly the shield the War Hammer Titan had dropped not long ago.

Shocked, Bill looked toward Lara Tybur, who was being supported by the guards. He began to suspect there was a traitor.

The fire pillar blasted against the hardened shield, instantly exploding outward along its surface. Rolling shockwaves engulfed the Fate Titan. The hardening began to melt under the terrifying flames. The fire brushed past its body—yet the Fate Titan did not stop. It advanced through the flames! The flames were being forced backward by it!

A Titan charging forward against a sky full of fire was a breathtaking—and terrifying—sight, like a warrior advancing beneath divine punishment.
