Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

  Chapter 55 The Promise Medicine?

Rationally speaking, Shinobu didn't think a single pill could do much, but right now, for her, even a straw was something she had to grasp desperately.

  "Sister!"

Shinobu carefully brought the crimson pill to Kanae Kochō's lips.

Although Kanae didn't think her injuries could be healed by a single pill, she didn't want to refuse Aomura Kazuhiko's kindness, so she opened her mouth and reluctantly swallowed the pill.

She didn't pay much attention at first, but her expression quickly changed. It

was as if a fireball had suddenly appeared inside her body, and waves of warm heat flowed from her chest to her limbs.

Kanae's pale face visibly flushed, her weak heartbeat gradually strengthened, and her breathing slowly returned to normal.

She subconsciously used her breathing to absorb the medicinal power and control her injuries.

The feeling of impending death dissipated rapidly, like snow under the sun, and some small wounds even began to scab over.

"This, how is this possible?" Kanae was utterly shocked.

A pill the size of a soybean could have such miraculous effects; this completely shattered her understanding.

Overjoyed, Shinobu cried, "Thank goodness, sister! Thank goodness!"

She had thought it was just a lifeline, but a miracle had truly happened.

Overwhelmed with emotion, she could no longer control herself.

Aoki cautioned, "Don't be so happy yet. You still need comprehensive and proper treatment."

Although Shinobu Kanae seemed to have improved significantly, it was entirely due to the effects of the Qi and Blood Pill; her injuries were far from healed.

Shinobu Kanae was well aware of her condition, but the shock she felt remained undiminished.

She had been destined to die; a single pill had pulled her back from the brink of death.

As a doctor, she knew very well how incredible this was.

Similarly, she understood how precious this medicine was.

"Thank you so much, Aomura Kazuhiko, for saving my life," Kanae Kochō said gently and solemnly.

"Thank you for saving my sister!" Shinobu Kochō wiped away her tears.

Her small face was delicate, her eyes red-rimmed, and although her expression was very serious, she still gave off a pitiful feeling.

At this time, Shinobu Kochō was only fourteen years old, and with her petite stature, she looked completely like a child.

Aoki couldn't help but glance at her a few more times, then turned his gaze to Kanae Kochō: "You're welcome, I saved you for a reason!"

"Reason?" Kanae Kochō was taken aback: "Is there anything Aomura Kazuhiko needs us to do?"

Aoki shook his head: "You'll find out later!"

He only had three Qi and Blood Pills.

A significant part of the reason he was willing to give one up was because of the two of them; at least Shinobu Kochō had helped Takina and her master's wife.

However, judging from their expressions, they probably only knew about his experiences in Azabu and hadn't found out his true identity.

Since that was the case, he naturally wouldn't reveal it voluntarily.

Secrets, of course, are best kept to a minimum.

The Butterfly Sisters both looked puzzled.

Aoki straightened up and looked out of the alley: "Alright, you two should go back and heal your injuries. I should leave too."

  "Aomura Kazuhiko, please wait!"

Kanae, flustered, jumped up despite her injuries and grabbed Aoki's hand.

Aoki reassured her, "Don't get agitated, don't get agitated. If you worsen your injuries, the medicine will be wasted!"

Kanae took a breath but wouldn't let go of his hand, saying earnestly and gently, "I have something very important to discuss with Aomura Kazuhiko."

Looking into her sincere eyes, Aoki hesitated for a moment, "Alright then, you go and heal your injuries first. We'll meet here again in half a month!"

Kanae shook her head: "No need for half a month, a week is enough!"      At the Pillar level, one's physique is extremely powerful. Although not as strong as a demon, their recovery ability far surpasses that of an ordinary person.

"Alright, see you in seven days!"

Aoki nodded slightly to the two, his figure suddenly disappearing.

"Sister, is this the kind of ability you were talking about?" Shinobu Kochō's eyes widened; she hadn't seen how Aomura Kazuhiko left at all.

Kanae Kochō nodded, her eyes slightly brightening: "Shinobu, did you notice? Aomura Kazuhiko is completely different from other demons. He didn't have the aura of decay, and his eyes didn't have that hungry look..."

Aomura Kazuhiko was indeed different from other demons.

Shinobu Kochō agreed, but there were more important matters to attend to, so she quickly interrupted her sister's incessant chatter.

"Sister, let's hurry back to the Butterfly Mansion. You must receive treatment as much as possible!"

"Okay!" Kanae Kochō readily agreed: "Indeed, we need to heal our injuries quickly; we need to see Aomura Kazuhiko again in seven days!"

Her injuries were still severe, but given the Pillar's physical condition and their medical skills, she was no longer in mortal danger.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be so relaxed.

Shinobu carried Kanae on her back and quickly headed towards the Butterfly Mansion.

"Sister, you said you encountered Upper Moon Two. How strong was he?"

Kanae's expression turned serious. "Very strong! Stronger than we knew!   During our fight, he didn't even use his full strength, yet I was almost powerless.

It would take at least three Pillars working together to contend with him!"

At this time, the Demon Slayer Corps only had eight Pillars, and even combined they couldn't stop three Upper Moons.

And above the Upper Moons was the even more terrifying Muzan Kibutsuji.

Shinobu's heart sank slightly, and she asked again, "What about Aomura Kazuhiko?"

"Aomura Kazuhiko is stronger than Upper Moon Two!"

  Kanae recalled the previous scene.

Although their fight was short, Aomura Kazuhiko had maintained the upper hand throughout.

Shinobu wasn't particularly surprised by this answer.

Aomura Kazuhiko had killed an Upper Moon.

She remembered something else: "Sister, should we report this to Lord Aomura?"

  "Not yet!"

Kanae Kochō refused without hesitation, explaining, "Although we don't know the reason, it's obvious that Aomura Kazuhiko has goodwill and affection towards us, especially towards you, Shinobu."

Shinobu's face showed a hint of confusion.

She had noticed this too; Aomura Kazuhiko seemed more interested in her and closer to her than towards her sister.

Her sister was clearly more proactive and friendly towards him, while she herself had even initially considered attacking him.

Kanae Kochō continued, "If we carelessly leak Aomura Kazuhiko's information, it might damage his impression of us, which would be counterproductive.

A few more days won't make a difference; let's talk to Aomura Kazuhiko, get his consent, and then report to Lord Aomura!"

  Shinobu nodded in agreement.

Aomura Kazuhiko had saved her sister, which meant he had saved her as well.

At this moment, she really hoped that Aomura Kazuhiko, as her sister had guessed, was a "good guy."

She didn't want to clash with Aomura Kazuhiko.

Maintaining a friendly relationship was best.
