Elin stopped a passing female resident and cautiously asked,
"Are you a real person? If you're being coerced, blink twice."

The woman rolled her eyes and walked away.
"You're pretty, but unfortunately you're an airhead."
"Why did she insult us?"
Hwaily pouted indignantly.
"Still suspicious."
Elin rubbed her smooth chin thoughtfully.
"Maybe the answer lies in the other city. There has to be some monster hidden there. Nobles aren't supposed to be good people."
"You mean Starnight City? I heard there aren't many people living there right now. They're tearing down buildings and constructing new ones everywhere."
"How do you know that?"
Elin looked up at her suspiciously.
"From the recruitment board! It's over by City Hall. They need workers in Starnight City to lay bricks, farm, clean, and cook. You can earn as much as thirty or forty copper coins a day!"
