Chapter 73 - Dream Eater Chapter 72

He had originally planned to have a serious talk with Aya when he had the chance to be alone with her. But Naga didn't expect that this wait would last until the eve of the wedding.

He had only two channels of contact with Ashe: the company office and the lewd hunting grounds.

Both of these channels were shut down long ago.

Asami quit her job without hesitation. According to Miku, she also enrolled in a bridal school. No one knows what she's up to, but she says she wants to please her older sister who seems to be working hard and busy.

All the targets she had her eye on and the prey she had already captured, except for Mizuhara Yoshimi, were given to Naga as gifts. According to her on the phone, this was part of her wedding gift, and she was happy to accept it.

It seems that besides Yoshimi, Ami doesn't need any other prey for the time being. Naga looked at Yoshimi, who seemed restless at work during the day, and felt a little sorry for this girl whose temperament was so much to Ami's liking.

Although she had the freedom and ability to pursue romantic interests at work, Naga couldn't muster any interest for a long time, partly because of another wedding gift.

Akiko Shingo has officially relinquished the burden she had been carrying. With her children all grown up and established in their own families, she no longer needs this extra salary. As a gift from the highest authority in the Fujikawa family, the position of company president has been officially taken over by Naga.

As a gift, this alone clearly didn't show the father's generosity. So, in less than a week, the two previously independent agencies completed all the formalities and came under Naga's control.

In the two weeks leading up to the wedding, Naga was busy leading the merger and relocating the company to an office building closer to the parent company, renting three floors.

The merged personnel department was taken over by Keiko Kuroki, who was transferred back, and the other departments were also taken over by capable personnel provided by the parent company.

This series of earth-shattering changes left Naga with a sense of unease, as if even a cat's paws couldn't keep up with all the work.

Originally serving as a source of entertainment for Fujikawa, the OLs from the merged agencies, with their looks and demeanor, made the already attractive staff even more astonishing, which was one of the few things that Naga could look forward to.

Yoshimi Mizuhara was transferred to a sinecure so that Ami could summon her whenever she needed her, and judging from the number of times she took leave, the poor girl's life was not easy. Naga was certain that she was not a masochist; even though she had been trained to the point that a spanking could bring her to orgasm, her deep-seated fear of pain and restraint had not changed.

From another perspective, it might be precisely this feeling of fear and rejection that makes Ashe so fascinated.

Without any scruples, Naga transferred all of Matsushima Kae and her bed acquaintances to the General Affairs Department, which was located near the president's office. While dealing with a workload that had increased more than threefold, Naga also rewarded herself by sorting the beauties in the company who she hadn't yet won over by their appearance and immediately assigning the most outstanding and alluring ones to the positions of secretary and assistant.

With her wedding just a week away, Koga Yu submitted her resignation. Having found a kind and gentle boyfriend, she bid farewell to the world of Alice. Her financial difficulties were no big deal to Naga at this point, and as a wedding gift, he readily solved them for her in one go. In return, she received an even bolder repayment than Maeda Reiko—a promise that she would always accept his invitations even after becoming a wife.

Every evening after finishing her work, Naga would rush to see Miku. Initially, she seemed quite awkward, but through spending time together, she gradually adapted to Ami's presence, and occasionally, when Ami was mentioned, she would unconsciously reveal a smile as an older sister. It seems that the shrewd Ami has found the right way to please Miku.

Naga's most relied-upon secretary is named Osawa Yuko, who is thirty-seven years old. She is a single woman whose style is similar to that of Minister Kuroki, whose appearance is much less attractive, but whose work ability is amazing.

Naga, who initially had no interest in her and had only casually assigned her to be the head of the Publicity Section 2, soon realized that she was a woman who could save him. He immediately and decisively transferred her to the president's office as his executive secretary, leading those few pleasing "flower vases" to share his workload.

Thanks to Yuko Osawa, Naga's burden has finally lightened considerably, and she can finally confidently carve out a two-week wedding vacation on her schedule. Before the new wave of personnel changes arrives in November, Naga has finally entered a state where she can get through the day without being completely exhausted.

Three days before the wedding, Miku took Naga to meet Kengo Fujikawa.

As it was the first formal meeting between father-in-law and son-in-law, Naga was a little nervous. However, the process went very smoothly. Compared to Miku, who always had an impatient expression, Fujikawa was much more enthusiastic. Naga could somewhat sense that Fujikawa was trying his best to show a friendliness that he wasn't good at, and his eagerness to mend the rift that had already been created.

"We'll definitely visit each other often after we get married." Ignoring Miku's fingers secretly pinching her fingers behind her back, Naga solemnly said this to Fujikawa before leaving.

"Naga, I truly regret that you cannot be my son."

"I will soon be your son, Uncle."

The conversation ended with a dialogue similar to the last one.
