After Rimo developed the [Flying Thunder God Technique], he immediately sent a courier to Uvogin and Machi, who were in the Sky Arena. Each was equipped with two Flying Thunder God Kunai, along with detailed instructions: if they encountered danger beyond their limits, they were to activate the runes with [Mind] immediately. This allowed Rimo to sense them in real time and teleport to their location instantly through the Nen-infused runes.
As for the others, since they didn't have fixed locations, Rimo didn't send them anything.
Wright Nosla, though unfamiliar with the Flying Thunder God Kunai, held them respectfully in both hands. At least one truth was clear to him: in the world of Nen, common sense was worthless. One only had to follow Rimo's instructions precisely. After learning that Nen users could forcibly awaken [Mind] in non-Nen users, Wright Nosla secretly wanted to become a Nen user himself.
Rimo, observing him carefully, judged that if Wright Nosla were forced to awaken [Mind] like Bart, he would likely die unless he underwent special training. In the original Hunter x Hunter framework, forcing activation of a mental ability like [Reading] or [Mind] requires not just physical aptitude but also Nen qualifications, as Yungu had explained for Gon and Killua. Unless Wright Nosla completed rigorous preparation, forcing the activation would be fatal.
Initially, Wright Nosla attempted the special training, but within half an hour, he gave up, exhausted. Unlike Nion, he lacked innate talent and could not withstand the strain. There was no choice but to leave it be.
"Okay, I'll arrange everything according to Lord Rimo's instructions, so we won't disturb you further," Wright Nosla said respectfully.
Rimo waved. "Alright, then you may leave."
"Yes, Lord Rimo." Nosla withdrew, keeping a respectful distance before returning to the villa.
After Wright Nosla left, Rimo held a Flying Thunder God Kunai in his hand, murmuring thoughtfully, "By now, the courier should be almost there."
Far away, in the Sky Arena of the Batokia Republic, Machi and Uvogin were waiting in the player lounge on the 80th floor. This arena only allowed the victor to advance, and every day, about 4,000 challengers attempted higher floors. Fighters came for fame, profit, or to test themselves against masters. High-level competitors sometimes controlled entire floors. Fame and bloodshed mixed in equal measure, making the Sky Arena a gold-burning crucible of martial arts. Over a billion spectators visited annually, while daily gambling profits reached astronomical amounts.
Machi and Uvogin waited for the notification of their next fight. Fighters who reached this level were reckless, yet none dared provoke Machi, likely intimidated by Uvogin's sheer presence.
"Excuse me, is Ms. Machi here?" a staff member called, holding a small package.
"Yes." Machi's voice was cold. The staff glanced down, puzzled: no one was visible.
"Below!" Machi added, her tone sharp, almost murderous. The staff looked down to see her staring like a blade.
"Ahhhhh! This… this package is for you!" he stammered, shocked that a little girl occupied the 80th floor. Machi ignored him, took the package, and returned to Uvogin's side.
"Oh—Machi, is that the package the deputy commander mentioned?" Uvogin asked, curious.
Machi nodded flatly. "Yes. No one sends me anything but him."
Before the courier arrived, Rimo had texted Machi, so she knew something was coming. The contents remained a surprise. Just as she was about to open it, an announcement sounded:
"Mr. Uvogin, Mr. Aubert, please proceed to the B-ring on the 86th floor."
Machi glanced at Uvogin. "Looks like you're first."
"I'll wait for you in the lobby on the 90th floor, then I'll see what the deputy commander sent me," Uvogin said, grinning as he stood.
Across the lounge, a bald man in only underwear rose—Aubert, the other combatant.
Uvogin barely glanced at him. "Boring. Trash again." His voice carried across the lounge. Other fighters shot Aubert incredulous looks. Could he tolerate this?
Aubert clenched his jaw. "Humph! Talk big, huh? We'll see who's trash soon." He hadn't wanted to provoke Uvogin; the aura emanating from him was like a human-shaped beast. Seeing Uvogin standing there, Aubert knew he might die instantly. He even planned to surrender if the fight went poorly, preserving himself for later rounds. But now, being on the 80th floor, two matches away from the 100th floor and a private room, he could not back down.
Uvogin, however, didn't get angry. He grinned. "You know what? I like lifeless idiots like you the most." Murderous Nen aura emanated uncontrollably.
Did he really want to kill me?! Aubert thought, frozen with fear.
