Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Beginning of Intensive Training

The sun had risen slightly, its golden rays falling upon the castle's stone courtyard, yet the air remained thick with the scent of scorched earth and dew clinging to the grass. Sultan and Khalid stood before a long line of veteran warriors, each bearing the marks of time in their eyes, in their muscles, in the precise movements of every part of their body.

A shiver ran through Sultan's entire being. This was no longer just an individual test; it was advanced training that would challenge mind, heart, and soul together. Every step echoed in his chest, every movement weighed heavily with responsibility. Khalid, at his side, twisted his shadow around his feet; each subtle movement of the shadow was an invisible guide: "Stay with Sultan, protect him, and learn at the same time."

The towering warrior raised his hand, his voice resounding like a hammer strike across the courtyard:

"Begin… This is no longer a game. Learn to harmonize with the elements—not just to move fire or water, but to become part of them… to become part of the world you are destined to protect."

Sultan raised his hands. Fire coiled around his palms, water flowed lightly between his fingers, and the air danced around him, testing his balance. Khalid extended his shadow to form an additional barrier, flowing gently around Sultan, shielding him from any initial mistake. Each element harmonized with the others, yet perfection had not been achieved; the true challenge lay in coordinating power with awareness.

The small creatures placed for training attacked again, their shrill cries blending with the sound of wind and shadow. Sultan, despite his fear, focused on movement and harmony. He felt each element speaking to him, every motion whispering: "Trust yourself… trust the other… be true to your heart."

Khalid, always the more cautious, felt the weight of responsibility growing, but he learned that true power was not in shadow alone—it was in knowing when to reveal it and when to withdraw. He sent his shadow to merge with air and fire, a precise yet decisive movement that saved Sultan from potential chaos.

After a series of rapid attacks, the two children stood, panting, their eyes shining with pride and awe. They felt they had achieved something previously unimaginable, yet the weight of responsibility pressed heavier upon their shoulders.

Sheikh Abdulrahman approached, his voice carrying both warmth and firmness:

"What you witnessed today is not merely training… it is the first spark of your cooperation… to teach you that power without bond and loyalty means nothing… Remember this well, for every moment of your coming life will test this connection."

The children sat upon the ground, breaths interlacing, sweat glistening on their faces. Each felt an inner growth, a rising fear, and a realization that the path to the prophecy began with mastering oneself before mastering the elements.

The forest surrounding the castle was still, but it was no longer the same. Every small sound, the movement of leaves, even the flutter of birds, reminded the children that the world was larger, and that the Shift and its threats were no mere stories.

In that moment, Sultan and Khalid understood that their true journey had begun, and that this training was not merely instruction—it was a trial of their hearts, their brotherhood, and their capacity to face what was yet to come.
