Chapter 11 - 10.Bygone days gone and past

Karli didn't look back she had left her home and a new home in the span of a few days but in both cases her head was steady forward. Not because she didn't love or miss them that she did, but it was because she was scared, scared that once she turned back once she couldn't turn back once more to continje her journey.

Some would call her a coward for not facing the people she loved for goodbyes but she was strong not for leaving people behind but for being able to walk ahead with her head held high.

. . .

Leaving the house she saw loads of wild flowers and different carefully taken care of plants in the family garden. It which she hadn't even noticed before had noticed her and was faring her goodbye as she left to the road infront of the gate.

She smiled to herself as she bid even the little plants goodbye.

Karlotta was bow finally feeling the true city life. The quick vehicles racing eachother. Parks ever so often signboards and neon lights filled the roads, but they too were overshadowed by the blazing sun perrenial and eternal never to set and never to let anyone outshine it.

She was walking along the crosswalks looking at every laftpost just there with no real purpose to be there but to take space. But it felt like it fitted in. The more she walked the more she found things that seemed ordinary but were not for they were frankly useless.

Almost every appliance public or private, indoors or outdoors, used solar energy just seeing the seer amount of it flowing freely. But some vehicles still produced smoke and even leaked petrol onto the otherwise pristine roads.

The more she thought the more she realized that these things were not made for their era but it was relics of the past that people were just to attached to discard.

She too thought of the past, when she was young, helpless and also frankly useless. Well she still was pretty useless, but still she wondered why her calculating and profit driven parents took care of her and spent their fortunes and even more so important time to make her feel comfortable.

Why she thought, with this her mind again drifted to the whats and whys questions she had regarding why her memory was a jumble but her mind itself distracted her from thinking about it. Was it an subconscious order, the mind protecting her, a reflex action or a conscious action she didn't want to think she took.

She left her thoughts hanging and went to eat because she was pretty hungry walking around and enjoying the scenery.

She was taking bites after bites from her sandwhich she found from a streetside stall when she heard the sound of a broadcast being held.

It was on a bright screen high on a pole at the edge of the park she was at. It was thin but large letting karli fully see and also hear the news being broadcasted at the other end of the park.

"Overhead bridges collapse all around the world with multiple cities roads beings blocked by the debris and lack of roads. As of this moments there have been 600 cases of people getting injured 230 casualties and counting." The load TV announced.

"These are the very same bridges that has held unfathomable traffic, innumerable people and weights much heavier than what was held today. What could possibly have caused this unfortunate event not just in one place but around the globe."

What a news to be heard just when i was enjoying my meal. She thought as she dropped her sandwhich onto the bench.

The more she thought about that news the more she started to wonder again about that ominous radio broadcast she had heard a few days prior. What could that have meant. The more she thought about it the more she found out about how helpless she was not even being able to gather any further news let alone useful information. She was at the mercy of coincidence and the little she had tp even hear about her family, she was heartbroken.

But she didn't give up because to her giving up was to accept her fate and if she was that type of person she would not be out in the streets of the city determined to find more her family.
