The office lights flickered as the mysterious figure stepped into the open. Li Wei's heart pounded. The newcomer was familiar yet frighteningly powerful in presence.
"Kai," the figure said, voice smooth but cold. "Your past is catching up."
Kai's calm exterior cracked. "Not here," he whispered, more to himself than to anyone else.
Li Wei, though stunned, felt a surge of determination. He had come this far. He had to understand, had to see behind the masks.
Kai finally turned, his steel-blue eyes meeting Li Wei's green. "Li Wei… there's something you need to know."
Li Wei leaned in, the storm outside echoing the chaos in his chest. "Tell me."
Kai took a deep breath. "Silver Tower isn't just a company. And I'm not just a CEO. Everything you've been drawn into… it's bigger than either of us."
Li Wei's mind spun. "You mean… the warnings, the messages… the danger?"
"Yes," Kai admitted, the first trace of vulnerability breaking through his usual control. "And now, you're part of it."
A distant explosion shook the building. Papers flew. The lights went out.
In the sudden darkness, Li Wei felt a hand grip his shoulder—strong, urgent, protective. And he realized with a jolt: it wasn't Kai.
