October 1974.
After over a year of adaptive evolution, the master of the Mutant Evolution House, Darwin, finally achieved the ability to survive in the vacuum of space.
A biological membrane had formed.
This pale yellow, specialized cellular layer resembled a magical inscription—it could decompose tiny particles in the vacuum and synthesize oxygen.
Once Darwin evolved this membrane, the scientists at the Evolution House immediately began extracting it.
After meticulous calculations, Darwin named this new adaptive material the Spatial Membrane, capable of supplying a human body with three hours of breathable oxygen.
In the current era, being able to survive in space for three hours was a revolutionary breakthrough. Darwin was ecstatic.
He stepped out of the vacuum chamber, donned a white lab coat, adjusted his attire slightly, and made his way to the center of the laboratory—where a magnificent portal pulsed with brilliant light.
He stepped in—and instantly appeared in Lancelot's chamber.
"My King, I've succeeded!" Darwin exclaimed, rushing to Lancelot. "I've evolved the ability to remain in space for three hours!"
"Has it truly succeeded?" Lancelot asked, seated upon his massive bio-throne, looking down at Darwin.
Since constructing the Space Gate, he had been awaiting this news.
Now, the wait was over.
"Come, Darwin. It's time to advance your adaptive evolution in space."
Lancelot rose from his throne and led Darwin through the portal, emerging in the space laboratory.
"Suit him in the Sentinel Armor. Prepare for Darwin's arrival," Lancelot commanded as they entered the decontamination area.
"Yes, my King," Dr. Leonard responded, tapping his mechanical wrist device. The Sentinel Armor appeared before Darwin.
Under Leonard's control, the armor dispersed into countless bio-scales, which quickly enveloped Darwin's body.
"Tendou Pain." Lancelot glanced at Darwin clad in the Sentinel Armor, then placed his hand on the ground, summoning his own Tendou Pain.
"Darwin, follow me."
Lancelot transferred his consciousness into Tendou and, with Darwin in Sentinel Armor, entered the spatial protection zone.
Whoosh.
Inside the space-grade containment field, Darwin's armor automatically transformed into a thick, intricate spacesuit.
"This suit will protect you from minor cosmic radiation. During your next evolution, you will need to develop the ability to resist full space radiation."
Tendou Pain led Darwin through the portal and descended upon the asteroid Lancelot had constructed.
"This… is the space base our King has built? It looks like a planet." Darwin gazed around, stunned. He stood on a vast plain, surrounded by countless…
Rumble.
The asteroid shook. Darwin's eyes narrowed toward the source.
"Magneto?"
He recognized the figure of his fellow mutant, Erik Lehnsherr, floating in the air. Magneto wore Sentinel Armor, arms outstretched, manipulating metal materials like building blocks.
In moments, a sleek laboratory began to take shape.
"Warning! Warning! Oxygen low! Oxygen low!" Magneto's suit suddenly blared an alarm.
"One minute left?" He cast a glance at the incomplete lab and quickly flew toward the asteroid's space portal.
"My King," he called before passing through, bowing slightly.
Lancelot and Darwin, in full space gear, observed his fleeting presence.
"Rest, Erik," Lancelot said. Magneto had been shuttling back and forth between Earth and space continuously.
His magnetic mastery was perfect—but even in a spacesuit, he could only remain in space for a minute before oxygen deprivation forced his return.
After several trips, Magneto finally returned through the portal to the Evolution House.
"Darwin, how do you feel?" Lancelot asked, guiding him toward the massive lab Magneto had begun constructing. Scattered metallic components floated upward under Tendou Pain's gravity, assembling into complex structures faster than Magneto could manipulate metal.
In no time, the materials formed an elliptical building—futuristic, precise, and elegant.
"Go, Darwin. Adapt to the space environment." Lancelot gestured, and Darwin entered the structure.
Inside, the building was a pure platinum-white void.
The Sentinel I Armor separated from Darwin, exposing him to the environment.
Zzzz.
As he removed the armor, Darwin's cells began rapid adaptation and evolution, and a pale yellow space membrane appeared over his skin, capable of sustaining him for three hours of oxygen.
Darwin started acclimating to the extreme environment. Lancelot smiled.
"I believe Darwin will soon evolve a biological organ capable of perfect survival in space," he mused, controlling Tendou Pain as he continued expounding his cosmic theories.
"By the way… this planet doesn't have a name."
Lancelot, stacking metals into a structure with gravitational precision, pondered aloud.
"Space Mutant Evolution House?" he shook his head.
"God does not dwell among humans. This planet shall be called the Kingdom of God."
He raised his right hand.
The asteroid's surface rocks convulsed violently. Massive pillars of stone erupted, reaching ten thousand meters in moments.
A colossal, divine landscape formed above the planet's surface.
Lancelot named the asteroid God's Kingdom—a new home for mutants, a realm for mutant deities.
