Chapter 35 - An Elite’s Final Sprint

When Su Yu heard Bu Ni's request, his spirits lifted immediately. Business really was coming in waves lately—and this was no small order either. Suppressing the flicker of excitement in his eyes, he asked calmly, "What Pokémon are you raising? I can draft a plan specifically for you." He glanced toward the workers still unloading equipment and added, "Let's talk over there. I'll have them install the machines first."

Bu Ni nodded without hesitation. "Alright." She turned and gave clear instructions to the people she'd brought with her, telling them to handle the installation carefully. This wasn't something to be done casually. At that moment, Chen Xier volunteered to stay behind. "I'll watch things here. You two can go talk—leave this to me." With nothing more to discuss, Su Yu and Bu Ni agreed immediately. Su Yu also reminded the children from the orphanage not to make trouble, then led Bu Ni back inside. The breeding house still wasn't fully ready, so serious negotiations would have to take place here for now.

After seating her and pouring tea, Su Yu got straight to the point. "Miss Bu Ni, tell me your needs. I'll design the energy cube formulas for you. If you're not satisfied, we can adjust them slowly. I don't have much here—just top-tier energy cube recipes—but as long as the materials exist, I can make them."

Bu Ni raised an eyebrow. Normally, that kind of confidence would sound like bragging, but she remembered what Chen Xier had already told her. The energy cubes currently being sold by Chen Xier's family came from Su Yu. He had even provided advanced formulas without hesitation. That alone explained why Chen Xier was willing to move so much equipment over here. This young man wasn't exaggerating—he really was that capable.

With that thought, Bu Ni spoke frankly. "My main Pokémon right now is a Shiny Metagross, early Champion-level. Then there's Aggron at Elite peak, Aegislash at Elite peak, Steel-Dragon at mid-Elite, Empoleon at Elite peak, and a Seismitoad at early Elite. Most of them are Steel-types. What I want is a top-tier energy cube that focuses on defense and physical strength—preferably specialized for Steel-types. Do you have something like that?"

Hearing this lineup, Su Yu's expression grew serious. Bu Ni was roughly his age, yet her strength was already frightening. Bu Ni didn't hide anything either. "I don't have much time. I've qualified for this year's Elite Challenge, and I have to succeed. The Elites of Dragon Country are all Champions—it's hell difficulty. In other regions, my current strength would already be enough, but not here. Before the Spring Festival, I want at least several of my Pokémon to reach Champion-level. I already have a training plan. The only thing I'm missing is the right energy cubes. Advanced ones just aren't enough anymore. Xi'er said you had a solution—and that gave me hope."

She spoke seriously, without embellishment. This was her final sprint. Su Yu nodded slowly. "I understand. But since most of your Pokémon are Steel-type, you can't go all-in on Steel alone. Their secondary attributes matter too. If you over-specialize, you'll be too easily countered." Bu Ni agreed immediately. "Exactly. That's why I want your advice."

After a moment of thought, Su Yu began. "For Shiny Metagross—Steel and Psychic—I have a top-tier exclusive energy cube that suits it perfectly. It greatly enhances physical strength and stamina, boosts mental power, and even significantly improves speed. For Metagross, it's an all-around enhancement. Steel and Psychic both benefit."

Before he could continue explaining alternatives, Bu Ni cut in without hesitation. "I'll take that one. That's it. Whatever materials you need, tell me—I'll get them."

Su Yu paused, then smiled faintly. "In that case, the hardest materials are Light Clay and Metal Powder. Light Clay is a bit rare, but Metal Powder is easy for you—Steel-types shed it naturally. As for fruits, you'll need imported ones like Salac and Starf Berries. Xi'er can help you source those. Overall, it's not difficult. The only real question is whether you can get enough Light Clay—the quantity won't be small."

He laid everything out plainly. This wasn't a casual deal—it was the kind of preparation that decided whether someone could step into the ranks of the Elite Four.
