Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Cat in the Quilt

Heaven seldom fulfills men's wishes, or to put it more appropriately, it was man-made misfortune.

Su Qingwan had already made a decision by the time she sat up straight, so before Sun Chen could run even a hundred meters-or rather, ten centimeters-Su Qingwan had already turned around and reached out to grab the corner of the quilt near the pillow.

With just a light lift, the quilt was lifted, creating a large hole.

Without any surprise or any struggle, Su Chen, who was still running, was directly sucked into the quilt by this powerful suction force. He now deeply regretted not having lain flat on the bedsheet.

But it was too late for any regrets now. He was taking off again, completely without any warning.

Su Chen was carried by the wind Su Chen was carried by the wind rushing into the other side of the quilt, floundering and bumping against the quilt before falling towards the direction of the bedsheet. But before Su Chen could even land on the ground, Su Qingwan's body, which seemed somewhat delicate and soft to ordinary people, had already slipped inside.

Another bout of unpredictable wind, coupled with Su Qingwan's unconscious movements.

Su Chen was sent flying and crashing about everywhere by the gusting wind. He didn't even know what he hit. By the time he was sprawled on the ground again, his whole being was in disarray.

Was it over now?

Of course not. What Su Chen didn't know was that his current location was right next to Su Qingwan's feet. It was just too dark inside the quilt, and he was too disoriented to clearly see his surroundings.

Naturally, when lying down, one stretches their legs straight. But the problem arose right here. Under the quilt, it lies flat against the bed. Stretching one's feet underneath the quilt would naturally cause the quilt there to be propped up, creating a space.

The existence of air pressure meant this process would still generate wind, generating a downward suction force.

Su Qingwan very naturally stretched out her pair of fair, jade-like legs straight. But this was sheer torment for Su Chen.

The powerful suction force, along with the chaotic wind, sent Su Chen flying again before he could even get a clear look at the situation before him.

This time, he didn't fly anywhere else, but was directly pressed by the wind onto the instep of Su Qingwan's foot, and was carried by Su Qingwan's small foot rushing towards the very bottom end of the quilt.

Su Qingwan finally got comfortable lying down, gave her small feet a slight shake, adjusted her body, found the most comfortable position, and only then closed her eyes preparing to sleep.

But what about Su Chen?

Being pressed by the wind against Su Qingwan's foot instep was one thing, but after finally stopping, he felt the ground violently shake, and his whole person was thus tossed out. He stumbled and staggered inside the quilt for a long time before finally coming to a stop.

But now Su Chen had no strength left to do anything. The recent experience could hardly be called pleasant. Lying on the bedsheet, feeling the confusion in his head, he had no thoughts at all, already looking like he was about to die.

Five minutes?

Ten minutes?

Or half an hour?

Su Chen didn't know how much time had passed. When the confusion in his mind faded, he only felt surrounded by darkness, unable to see anything.

Su Chen no longer wanted to dwell on where exactly he was. Who cares where it is, anyway he was definitely in a corner of Su Qingwan's quilt, but currently this place seemed relatively safe.

It should be quite far from Su Qingwan's body, otherwise Su Chen would really need to spend time finding a corner to ensure his safety, but Su Chen had no idea how far this "far" actually was.

"What kind of life is this!"

Su Chen sighed deeply to the heavens, his heart filled with sorrow and bitterness.

If he told others about his experiences this day, probably few would believe him.

After all, becoming smaller than an ant, if said out loud, people would either think you were dreaming, or probably assume you hadn't taken your medicine, or maybe taken the wrong one.

Moreover, Su Chen now had no one to confide in; that would be completely asking for death.

"Whatever, let it be as it may."

Su Chen gave up, lying on the bedsheet not getting up. This day, just running to his own room had been exhausting enough, yet he also suffered two sudden attacks from Su Qingwan, one in the morning and one at night.

At this moment, he was completely exhausted, unwilling to do anything. Now he just wanted to sleep well. As for whether there was danger or what kind of danger he might encounter, he had completely resigned himself to fate.

Su Chen remembered once reading a saying: if you love her, you must die by her hand.

Perhaps this was his destiny. Having become so small, and Su Qingwan unaware of his existence, who knows how he might be eliminated by one of Su Qingwan's unconscious little actions?

But now it had nothing to do with him.

Under heaven, besides eating and drinking, sleep is most important.

Su Chen closed his eyes, his body splayed out in a big character on the bedsheet. It wasn't too cold here, so sleeping like this was fine. Afterwards, Su Chen completely lost consciousness, thoroughly entering dreamland.

Probably this was the first time since childhood that Su Chen had catnapped in someone else's quilt.

Before, it was to avoid Su Qingwan's morning attacks, wrapping himself in his own quilt, pretending he had already gone out. But now?

He didn't need to hide; he hadn't even wanted to come in originally.

But such is fate-when you don't want it, it comes to your door. He had actually been "delivered" into the quilt by Su Qingwan. This time, if he hid in the quilt, probably Su Qingwan wouldn't discover him, right?

But now Su Chen desperately wished Su Qingwan could discover him, then help him find a way to restore his original form. He didn't want to remain like this forever; how could he protect Su Qingwan properly if he stayed this small?

Su Qingwan slept relatively peacefully, basically without any movements, so now was the safest time for Su Chen, with no need to worry about any more mishaps.

The night passed just like that. By around ten o'clock, the sunlight outside the window had become very bright.

Sunlight shone through the window onto Su Qingwan's face. Her beautiful features appeared even more exquisite against the sunlight, but the trace of sorrow between her eyebrows remained condensed and unyielding, giving this beauty a slight flaw..

Su Qingwan's eyelashes fluttered, then slowly opened. She raised a hand to block the dazzling sunlight.

Her consciousness was not yet clear, but her body naturally reacted-she bolted upright from the bed with a start, threw off the quilt and was about to run out. What did Su Qingwan want to do?

What she wanted to do, of course, was to wake Su Chen. Just up, her mind was still a haze, subconsciously thinking she was still in her own room.

But when she clearly saw everything before her, her movements instantly halted, as if her time had been paused, because she realized she was now in Su Chen's room.

That meant everything from yesterday was truly real.

Su Chen really had not returned all along. Had he really abandoned her?

Thinking of this, Su Qingwan's eyes began to redden, tears already starting to well up in her eyes, her heart aching beyond words.
