It was already nighttime, Cevil and KJ were sitting in an Italian restaurant, listening to relaxing background music, enjoying the air conditional. This was a high-class restaurant, it was luxurious, the chairs were gold and red, the table was made of marble, covered by a piece of pink clean silk cloth. The walls were painted with gleaming yellow paint, clean and shining. Golden chandeliers were hanging on the ceiling, the light glowing brightly from it. A few famous paintings in golden frames were hanging on the wall.
This restaurant was on the second highest floor of a tall building, and one side of the restaurant's walls were built with glass, which makes them a floor-to-ceiling window. The boys chose the seat right beside the window. The view was brilliant. They could see the busy streets from below, pedestrians rushing home, cars moving, traffic lights turning, busy people buying things and selling things in the night market.
Not only was the design awesome, but the food was also brilliant, too. Although it was an Italian restaurant, it served some Japanese food. They ordered two A5 Wagyu Beef, and the dishes arrived within three minutes. When the boys chewed the Wagyu, they could feel the soft, oily meat moving around in their mouth. It was comfortable.
Kent sat down on the other side of the restaurant. He watched Cevil and KJ munching the Wagyu Beef with happiness. He took the phone from his pocket and called Cevil; Cevil answered the call.
"Hello," Kent said.
"Hi, Kent," Cevil swallowed the Wagyu Beef into his stomach.
"I didn't see you when I came to pick you up today."
"Oh, I'm not sure about that. I just knew I waited for quite a long time, no one came, then I left."
"You could have phone call me."
"I didn't have a phone with me."
"You have it now."
"KJ just returned me- I mean, the cop. I thought it was taken by the cab driver, but it was taken by the cops."
"Want to have dinner together? Where are you?"
"Oh, uh."
Cevil exchanged glances with KJ, "I already ate my dinner."
"Then let's meet? Play games?" Kent placed a thick pile of cash on his table, got up from his seat, and got into a lift to leave.
"Uh," Cevil stared at KJ, "Sorry, I'm tired, maybe tomorrow?"
Kent frowned, "Okay, see you tomorrow." The lift doors closed.
KJ asked, "Why did you lie to your friend? We aren't doing any illegal stuff; we're just eating dinner properly in a legal restaurant," Cevil sighed, "I'm scared he's going to get mad at me. You know, we're best friends, since young. Imagine getting out of a," Cevil lowered his voice, "Drug rehab," then he spoke normally again, "and meeting with someone else than the best friend, he'll get jealous, I don't want him unhappy."
"I thought he wasn't there when you were released?"
"Oh yeah, that's true."
"Then you should go find him now, he'll probably be disappointed. He hasn't seen you for a month." KJ suggested. Cevil hesitated, "That's true, but what about you?" he considered. "Just leave me, I'll be good," KJ smiled, then he paid the bills. "Thanks," Cevil said and left the restaurant quickly. He arrived at Kent's house within ten minutes. He did not inform Kent he'd be coming because he wanted to give him a surprise. He knocked on the door. He tidied his hair and clothes while waiting for the door to open.
The door opened. It was Kent's mom.
"Hi, aunt." Cevil greeted. Kent's mom's jaw dropped. "Gosh, are you Cevil? You are so thin, like a pair of chopsticks! Are you alright?" she exclaimed. Cevil forced a smile, "Yes, thank you. Is Kent home?" Cevil asked. Kent's mom looked around her house, "Oh, I'm sorry, Kent's out," she said. Cevil raised his eyebrow, "Okay. Then may I know where he went?" Cevil asked. She shrugged, "I have no idea what's he up to. For these few weeks, he just suddenly goes missing without a reason, and only comes home during midnight like his mysterious father. Anyways, in one word, I have no idea where Kent went."
Cevil sighed, "Okay, thanks, aunt. Bye."
"Bye."
The door closed.
Cevil called Kent, no one answered. Then, he messaged him, but Kent wasn't online. He sighed again, it was only nine o'clock, he didn't want to sleep yet. He was finally out of the treatment centre, he had wasted one month, he wanted to do something. He decided to find KJ again, to play video games together, or maybe cards. He telephoned KJ, he answered, and they began talking.
"Hey, KJ, do you want to play games with me? Or something? I'm bored."
"Did you not find your friend?"
"Unfortunately, he wasn't home, he's not answering my calls nor messages, too." Cevil began his way back home.
"Okay."
"So, do you want to come?"
"Sure, give me your address."
