Cevil woke up. He had dreamt of Marco, nightmares of Marco, but this time, it was slightly different from usual. Usually, Marco would just be standing by the waves, and suddenly disappeared, leaving a pool of blood and a shoe. However, it was different this time. Marco was sitting slightly further from the water with a notebook on his lap. Marco was solving math equations, while Cevil, still, was on the phone. Cevil turned his back against Marco while speaking on the phone, and when he finished his calls, and turned around, Marco disappeared. The only thing left was the notebook that was filled with numbers and math symbols. Other than the numbers and symbols, there was a word written on it, with something red. Cevil took a closer look, it was blood, fresh red blood. The word that was written using blood was: HELP
Kent texted him when he was about to leave the house, he wanted to meet Cevil at their secret base which Marco gave a name called Fourteen. When they found that abandoned place and decided that it should be their secret base, they were fourteen years old. He left his apartment barely noticing anything, focusing on texting Kent.
"Ow!"
Cevil looked up. He bumped into KJ who was holding some food in a plastic bag, his breakfast, he supposed. "Hi," Cevil said hurriedly.
"Where are you going? I got breakfast for you."
"Uhm, just going out."
"Together?"
"What about your work? You seemed to be so free every day."
"What about your school?"
"What about your work?"
"Basically, I caught a cold yesterday. My boss insisted that I need to take a day off just because I caught a cold, I feel completely well though."
"Alright. Are you here for me? But I'm not free, currently, I have to go now."
KJ grinned, "No worries, I'll finish your breakfast as well. I'll find you later," then he slapped Cevil's back as Cevil turned to leave. Cevil rushed out onto the street, but he preferred walking over to their base than taking a cab or bus, afraid that he might get robbed or attacked once more. He who hadn't eaten his breakfast and guessed that Kent hadn't eaten too, bought some fried rice and continued his way to their base.
Cevil arrived at their secret base at the same time Kent had. It wasn't really a secret base; it was a warehouse standing in the middle of nowhere. This area was abandoned, because there was a rumor spread around the town that whoever goes near there would be unlucky their entire life, because almost nearly everyone that used to live there had died due to accidents. No one believed it was a coincidence and believed that this area was cursed. However, Cevil, Kent and Marco trusted none of these rumors, and they like to do something adventurous, they imagined that there were killers that killed the citizens in this area, and they always came around here to scout for killers. Soon, they always gathered at the warehouse, and they made it their secret base. It wasn't a base where they gather and discuss secret plans or dangerous things. It was a base for them to discuss their homework, but Marco had once thought of creating a secret association and this would be their secret meeting base where they'd have a meeting and discuss dangerous secrets. Withered roses and trees stood in the empty street. Most of the constructions had been destroyed by the government, except for a few of them and the warehouse. Two of them stood in front of their base, looking at the scribbles the three of them made together when they were fourteen. It wasn't exactly scribbles; it was what they named their base: Fourteen
They entered their base together, and the steel door made a creaking sound as they opened it. It was dusty inside; they'd never entered ever since Marco disappeared at the beach. The objects inside remained as they were four months ago. Cevil almost burst into tears when he saw the pictures hanging on the wall of him and Marco and Kent. There were many of them, and they were arranged from the oldest to the newest. The left ones were the oldest pictures, and the right ones were the newest.
Both of them sat on the chair, opposite each other. The table was quite long and was able to fit ten people around it; but there were only four chairs. They only need three chairs, but Marco insisted on buying the fourth one, he said that he will find someone else to join them someday. It was only two days before Marco had an accident, Marco said that he had found someone to join Fourteen – a girl – an adventurous girl who was older than them by three years.
Kent coughed, breaking the silence. Cevil straightened his back and watched Kent as he was searching for something in his satchel. "Here..." He cleared his throat, and he placed two pieces of paper on the table carefully – two tickets for the concert of Richard. Cevil leaned forward and examined it. "How did you get these? I heard that the price for these tickets were extremely expensive!" Cevil exclaimed. "Well, actually, it was my friend that bought these. He wanted to invite a girl that he likes to watch with him. However, he realized that the girl had another boyfriend," Kent grinned.
Kent and Cevil rested themselves on the comfortable chair, watching others pass by and find their seats. Everyone seemed to have settled themselves in their seat, and the pilot announced its take off. Cevil had wondered how Kent afforded to pay for business class airplane tickets, but the words couldn't come out of his mouth. Cevil knew that there wasn't a problem in asking this, but somehow it sounded as if Cevil was suspecting Kent. There was a television in front of them, with about ten films as well as games on the television. They were in no mood to watch or play, though. They took a night flight, and it was eleven o' clock at night. They were worn out after the packing they had done. Within a minute, they both had fallen asleep despite the noisiness in the plane.
