The next day was the field trip.
Ryan almost couldn't make it because he had woken up all sore that day, his entire body throbbing with a full, stubborn ache, making even sitting up a chore. He managed to pull himself through the morning routine, though his motions were slow and stiff.
Ethan had watched him with a furrowed brow of concern, asking several times if he was okay and advising him to stay behind if he was that weak, but Ryan had insisted.
Through the haze of the alcohol the previous night, he had remembered asking Adrian if he'd be attending the field trip. Even though he somehow knew Adrian would most definitely be there, he still asked just to confirm, and he got a positive response.
"I can't dare to miss the confession I've been mapping out in my brain all week long," Ryan said, barely a breath as he pulled on a cardigan.
