Chapter 17 - The Light and Its Shadow

Over thousands of them exploded in one go. All in the head of our lonely warrior PSI.

The light goblins leader and the shadow goblins leader were hyped. They both bounced off their light and shadow-made mats.

Gazing at the explosion smoke, the light goblins leader said,

"Is that all you got… Did you just die like that… How annoying."

The shadow goblins leader said,

"I don't think he's dead though."

His voice cut. "He… he must be kidding. He needs to be alive. What about us…?"

PSI screamed with a mocking expression on his face,

"I'm honored… But you see, I'm not that kind of man. I only like girls."

The shadow goblins leader said with an offended look, his voice shaking as he spoke,

"You got the nerve to joke at a time like this… Then… you must have the nerve to dare fight with us. Huh?"

The light goblins leader sat down and crossed his legs. He leaned on his hand, resting his elbow on his crossed legs, and said,

"You are hella terrifying. How did you survive that one?"

Shifting his gaze toward the dead goblins, the exploding ones, and those who still risked it and created mega-large bulbs they couldn't run with or without, he continued,

"Although I expected something like this, I still don't know how you cut off the goblins' heads by touching them like it's nothing. You used water and tried to make us forget about it… It worked with the other goblins, but I don't think it worked with us."

PSI smiled and said,

"Just be careful… I won't care about you like you did those guys. And I'm pretty rude."

The shadow goblin sat down while smiling and said,

"This bitch is fine for real…"

PSI looked like he was off guard. Of course, he looked like he was off guard all the time, but this time he was talking back and joking for a reason.

Suddenly, sand gathered around his legs and pulled him underground. Right when his neck reached the ground, the sand stuck all over him, holding him straight.

The wind goblin came flying through the air, holding a wind spear in his hand, and threw it right in front of PSI's face, thinking it would kill him.

But that's why PSI thought the shadow goblin and the light goblin were more intelligent than the others.

He stored the wind attack in his inventory and fired it back with another door, right from behind the wind goblins leader.

In midair, the wind goblins' last race died as well. What's worse… he died by a wind attack. PSI stayed right in his place.

The sand goblins' race's last person screamed emotionally as tears dropped off his face. His throat dried with nothing but pure pain. He went berserk over losing his sanity.

The wind goblins leader's last words were,

"Run away… run… Don't fight him… Run."

His voice felt like a whisper.

In berserk mode, he threw PSI out of the ground, and the sand followed, catching him in the air in a moment…

The berserk sand goblin ran to him with killing sand arrows aimed at PSI. The sand goblin had already jumped forward from the ground, using sand as external force.

In a moment, the sand goblin reached PSI with spears. PSI broke the sand formation holding him. He didn't run—he punched the sand goblin right in the face and dragged him down to the ground.

He then backflipped by stepping on the goblin's body, and when he retook his position, he jumped on the sand goblin's face.

Dragging him down to the earth, he stepped on his face until the last moment. When they reached the ground, he didn't hesitate—he landed on his face.

The sand goblin's face hit the ground before his body because PSI was stepping on it.

Half his facial bones broke down… and eventually PSI touched the ground.

Then PSI stopped looking at the dead goblins, walked forward, and said to the king,

"Only two left…"

The goblin king laughed a very satisfying laugh. His voice anchored as he said with rage,

"Now show me you deserve my attention. I will fight you."

PSI, with a blank expression, turned around and said,

"You two—let's fight until death… Let's finish this."

In a moment, a light bulb exploded right in his face. PSI entered his inventory, leaving out only a strand of his hair.

From inside, he jumped outside, gushing with insane speed. A luminous punch shattered his jaw, sending him into the sky.

PSI was shocked. His eyes were blurry. The only thing he saw was light rising toward his face.

He looked downward, flabbergasted, tilting his head. A light figure was accelerating upward.

In a blink of an eye, the light passed him, grabbing his neck. In the next moment, he was thrown higher into the sky, faster and harder.

PSI choked blood, clinging to the light figure. He outstretched his hand, positioning it to click.

As soon as he tried, a shadow figure clung to his wrist and smashed his fingers.

The grip intensified, steadily increasing pressure, breaking all the fingers on both hands.

The shadow figure whispered with a smile in his ear,

"I know you cut off people's necks by clicking. It's a trigger, isn't it? Too bad we noticed."

PSI was shocked. The voice was familiar.

'This voice… it's the shadow goblins leader. So that light must be the light goblin… I must throw a punch no matter the situation. I need to survive this one.'

"The hell is this speed…" PSI said while choking blood.

"Nah, you haven't even seen a thing," said the white goblin.

"Nah man… hahaha… haaaa… nah, that's the speed limit, isn't it…"

"Blabber all you want… you're as good as dead…"

"Yeah, the fight is over anyway…" PSI slipped into his inventory.

A new mechanism learned.

PSI popped out another door far from the light goblin and shadow goblin. They both turned around, shooting explosion attacks while swinging their hands.

Explosive light reached PSI…

The light goblin's eyes widened as he saw PSI jumping in and out of his inventory using different doors.

That shouldn't have been possible—PSI could have sunk deep inside the inventory.

But he had used so many mechanisms that he could now do it.

As soon as he jumped out, he fell from the sky. The light goblin stared at PSI, shocked.

PSI turned around while falling. He tapped his temple, spinning his index finger in a tight circle.

When the shadow goblin rushed down to reach PSI, PSI reached the clouds and sank into them. The clouds devoured him.

The shadow goblin raised an eyebrow, clenching his fist.

"Humaaaaaan!"

He punched thin air in front of the clouds. The clouds scattered like smoke.

He tilted his head.

"Damn… where is that human… Wait. The human can't fly…"

The shadow goblin turned to his left, then looked up at the light goblin.

He saw—

The light goblin's hands falling from midair.
