Chapter 43 - The Beyonder World

After the guests gradually dispersed, Fulen originally wanted to take the opportunity to leave, but Kvedo called out to Fulen and, with a mysterious smile, said to him, "Hehe, my old brother, don't leave yet. I want you to see something different."

Although Fulen was puzzled, he stayed. He turned to look at Erich, and sure enough, Erich seemed to have expected it, sitting calmly in his seat. When he saw Fulen looking, he just nodded and didn't say much.

Fulen felt a bit bewildered but still thought this salon wouldn't have too many surprises, so he stayed, preparing to see what these philosophy-loving brothers wanted to do.

Soon, Karl had seen off most of the guests. When he returned, he also looked as if he had expected it, coming to the table where the three men were still drinking freshly refilled coffee.

Karl was somewhat surprised to see three people at the table, but he didn't say much. He just asked the waiter to pour him a cup of coffee, then remained silent and drank it himself.

A strange silence descended upon the four. Fulen was quite puzzled, realizing that the other three old brothers knew what was going on, while he was still in the dark. And these people weren't talking, just acting out a silent play. But Fulen suddenly had a feeling that they were playing a game similar to 'Red Light, Green Light,' where whoever spoke first lost. So, Fulen controlled his coffee-drinking speed, anticipating the performance of these old brothers.

Fulen drank his coffee while looking at the others around him. To his left was Kvedo, to his right was Karl, and opposite him was Erich. Each of the four at the table had their own characteristics. Kvedo was a warm and hospitable gentleman, but he wasn't speaking now, just wearing a mischievous smile and watching the others while drinking his coffee.

Erich and Karl were somewhat similar, both relatively aloof, but Erich's aloofness was rational, while Karl's was simply his natural disposition. As for Fulen, he was a normal person, neither warm nor cold, but he was quite interested in the others' behavior, so he also remained silent.

Fulen wondered in his heart, were they really playing a silent game? But Fulen didn't say much. The reason was that deep down, Fulen still had a certain coldness, the coldness of a stranger from another land.

Finally, Kvedo, whose nature loved liveliness, couldn't hold out any longer. He placed his coffee cup, which had been empty for two or three minutes, on the table with a thud, startling the waiters who were tidying the room in the quiet environment. But when Kvedo looked at the three people at the table, good heavens, they were all wearing poker faces.

With a slightly dejected expression of a failed prank, Kvedo said, "Hey, Fulen, I thought you'd ask what was going to happen next, since I hadn't told you yet. I didn't expect you to be just like Erich and them. Oh, and Karl, I saw how excited you were at first; I thought you'd ask me directly now. Ah, a big failure."

Fulen didn't say much. After quickly finishing the slightly cooled coffee in his cup, he said with a hint of a smile, "I thought you wanted to play a game of who could hold out longer. Hahaha, I didn't expect it not to be."

Kvedo couldn't help but laugh when he heard that, saying, "This is a quiet game played by children in the Loen countryside, hehe. It's said to be a children's game developed by the ancestors based on the teachings of the Evernight Goddess, and later it spread everywhere. Unfortunately, I'm not here to play this game with you."

After speaking, Kvedo thought for a moment, then added, "However, I think it could be fun to play. It's quite interesting." After saying that, he laughed again. Then he saw that only Fulen responded with a couple of laughs, while Erich and Karl still looked like they were frozen, so he gave up on expanding the topic.

Erich saw that Kvedo had pretty much messed things up, then said, "Karl, Fulen, don't mind this guy Kvedo. He truly has a knack for easily messing up simple things, though he's never careless with important matters. By the way, Karl, let's go to the room you've prepared. We might as well talk about the official business."

Karl heard Erich's words but didn't say much. He just stood up, made a gesture, and said, "Then, please follow me."

Then Karl walked ahead, preparing to lead the three to the room that had been pre-arranged.

The room where Kvedo, Erich, and Karl were going to discuss official matters wasn't very large, with only a table in it, but there were also quite a few decorative items that took up space. In terms of luxuriousness, it was no less magnificent than the place where the philosophy salon had been held earlier.

After all four had entered the room, Karl dismissed the accompanying cafe waiters, then carefully locked the Door. After surveying the room to ensure no one else was present, he said to Fulen and the other two, "No problem, please take a seat."

Fulen sat down as instructed, and when he looked back, Kvedo had already sat down, while Erich, like Fulen, sat down only after Karl spoke.

After Karl also sat down, the four fell silent for a moment. In the mysterious atmosphere created by the sudden silence, Kvedo, as if a play was about to begin, waved his hands as if conducting an orchestra, humming some onomatopoeia, then slowly stood up and said in a theatrical, show-offy voice, "Gentlemen, you are about to enter the hidden side of this world, a world that ordinary people cannot access. Come, let us enter this world together."

Listening to these words, which, despite trying hard to sound mysterious, only caused embarrassment, Fulen didn't know what expression to wear on his face. He could only force a slight smile by twitching the corners of his mouth. Karl's face showed no change, but Erich's face took on an expression of slight distaste.

Kvedo didn't feel awkward at all and continued to immerse himself in his own world: "That's right, the hidden side of this world is not ordinary; it is Beyonder. And I am fortunate enough to enter this Beyonder world. Come, let me tell you about this Beyonder world."

As his words ended, Kvedo's exaggerated, almost operatic voice slowly faded from the room. Kvedo also emerged from his own world, but he saw that the three people before him showed little expression.

However, Kvedo didn't say much. He just looked around at the three of them, then said with a playful smile, "Well then, Fulen, you are also from the Beyonder world, aren't you? No, you should be a Beyonder, right? Why don't you introduce yourself?"
