Chapter 25 - Silence

Lefu once again gently caressed the ring on his right-hand finger, taking out an eye-sized 'diamond' and the remaining Beyonder materials. He said to Fulen, "Fulen, you are Elder Martin's son, and you should have inherited the Beyonder characteristic left by your father. However, the evil god's pollution made that Beyonder characteristic extremely sinister. After I recovered the Beyonder characteristic, some inanimate objects next to it actually started giving birth to children? Or something else. If I hadn't been accustomed to storing Beyonder items separately, the losses that time might have been severe."

"Finally, I used the ancestor staff to completely destroy that Beyonder characteristic, so your 'Astrologer' Beyonder characteristic is gone. However, you are a clansman who hopes to advance and bring greater glory to Abraham. Although you are still weak, I believe you can become strong. Take this 'Beyonder characteristic', go advance, and try to restore the glory that belongs to our Abraham!"

By the end of his speech, the elderly and somewhat corpulent man seemed to roar, but he still forcefully suppressed his voice and handed the 'diamond' to Fulen.

He turned around, his back to the three Abrahams, his body trembling slightly. Then, he used the ring again to take out a black, gem-encrusted staff. His resolve gradually firmed, and he tapped the staff twice. Two hazy, luminous doors appeared before him, and from outside the doors, one could vaguely see how strange the world inside was.

Lefu turned back to Fulen and Sersei and said, "You two go back first. Don't worry, I just used the ancestor staff to perform a divination shield on you. It will last for a maximum of one year. If I kill that Demoness who pretended to be my personal maid, then you most likely won't have to worry. But if not, you two must become true 'Astrologers'. The conditions are very strict, but please try your best to survive."

Fulen walked decisively and directly towards the hazy door in front of him, which seemed not to exist in this world, while Sersei seemed to have something to say, her lips moving twice.

However, Amadi interjected with a cynical smile, "Sersei, you don't need to think that escaping now is shameful. Preserving your useful body to ensure Abraham never perishes is far better than guarding an Abraham that could be wiped out at any moment. This young man, who is only an 'Apprentice', sees things more clearly than you. Alright, go quickly."

Sersei, this strong lady, looked at the two elders before her and said nothing, only nodding silently. Then, with an even more determined expression, she walked towards her own door, not lingering for even a moment.

As Fulen reached the door, he looked back at the three 'Astrologers' behind him. After seeing Sersei persuaded by that unconventional newly promoted elder, he didn't wait for the outcome, turned around, and walked towards the luminous door composed of colors that were hard to describe.

Instantly, Fulen entered a world where the three primary colors seemed to have been suddenly intensified. Red, green, and blue seemed unable to mix into other colors; red was just red, and even when mixed with other colors, it was still a superposition of red and other colors, with green and blue being the same. This world didn't even follow the laws of the original world or rather, it was a completely different world.

Fulen looked at a world with no front, back, left, right, up, or down, yet he unexpectedly found seven rays of light above him. Although Fulen's spiritual intuition told him that even if he went upwards, he would never reach it, Fulen had an inexplicable certainty in his heart that it was indeed 'up'. This chaotic and forcibly imposed cognition made him feel nauseous, as if drunk or dizzy.

Fulen shook his head, closed his eyes, and sought the guidance of his inner spirituality. Then, following his intuition, after only three or four steps, Fulen found himself back on the highest floor of his home, on the large rooftop, a place Fulen had never reached these past two days.

However, Fulen looked at the environment of the rooftop. There was a set of small pavilions with transparent roofs, surrounded by easy-to-grow vegetation and flowers. Although Fulen hadn't been to the rooftop these past two days and hadn't watered these flowers, they were still blooming vigorously.

Under the crimson moonlight, these flowers displayed a unique vitality. Fulen looked at the blood moon in the sky, the deep black sky, and the twinkling Stars. He couldn't help but walk into the small pavilion, sat on the sofa in the pavilion, and fell into contemplation facing the blood moon. Although Fulen had considered many possibilities, he was still shocked by the many things that had happened today and wanted some time alone to calm down.

On the other side, the stern-faced Lefu accompanied the languid Amadi, watching Fulen and Sersei enter the Traveler's Door one after another. After both of them arrived at their respective homes, they watched the hazy door slowly disappear, each falling into silence.

However, the silence did not last too long; time did not allow the two to linger here. Lefu said to Amadi, "Come with me."

Then, while heading to the first floor, he said to Amadi, "Aren't you going to ask me why I didn't let you leave?"

Amadi chuckled irreverently, "You're anxious, old man. How could I not know your plan? A responsible person like you must know that the Demoness Sect must have sent a demigod. You're going to fight for your life with someone. And then, you want me to help you deal with some troublesome people, like that personal maid. Perhaps even take over the ancestor staff for you."

Lefu shot Amadi an annoyed glance and said, "You, you're good at everything. You're accurate at judging people, you have good talent, and your appearance is perfect, you're simply a favored child of heaven. If you were just a little more serious, you would have long ago digested the potion and become an elder. Alas, you, you."

Amadi smiled lazily, "I don't like taking responsibility. If the situation weren't urgent and you could be in trouble at any moment, I would hope that even if I became an 'Astrologer', I wouldn't become an elder. You are so responsible, of course you relish it, but for me, and even for many of our clansmen, the position of elder is like a poison, something everyone dreads."

Lefu said nothing, only glancing at Amadi without further comment. Lefu's calm and serious demeanor, for some reason, always vanished without a trace in Amadi's presence. However, now both of them fell into a long silence.

In the staircase, where only candlelight was bright, the sound of their footsteps seemed to stir the candlelight. Their figures swayed in the candlelight, yet they were so resolute.

"Are you afraid?" Lefu suddenly asked as they neared the first floor.

"Yes, are you?" At this moment, Amadi no longer wore his mischievous smile. His face was very calm, and his tone was so calm it was frightening.

"I'm not afraid." Lefu stood with his back to the candlelight, his shadow completely covering his face, so no one could see his expression.
