After Tidus confirmed his race and status, a large treasure chest appeared. This was the Initial Chest exclusive to game-pod players.
He opened it without hesitation.
A green flash appeared, and inside the chest lay a skill book marked with a bow and arrow.
Skill: Frost Slow Shot (Green)
Effect: A spell-orb effect applied to arrows, slowing the target's movement speed by 8% and attack speed by 8% for 0.5 seconds. Cooldown: 0 seconds.
In God World, skills matter more than gear. Their rarity tiers are white, green, blue, purple, orange, and red.
Getting a green skill was already decent. Frost Slow Shot was the core skill of any kiting archer.
As for the zero-second cooldown, that did not mean it could be spammed endlessly. It still had to be used in sync with normal attacks.
Tidus was about to happily stash the book away when the system chimed again.
Ding!
"Congratulations. You have triggered a rare luck event. The Ancient God has detected exceptional shooting talent in you. Your skill Frost Slow Shot has been upgraded to Blizzard Shot!"
Skill: Blizzard Shot (Purple)
Effect 1: Arrows are infused with the power of a blizzard, slowing the target's movement speed by 20% and attack speed by 20% for 1 second. Cooldown: 0 seconds.
Effect 2: One in ten thousand chance to trigger a five-second Blizzard.
Description: By gaining this skill, you have already stepped onto the path of becoming the God of Archers.
He drew in a sharp breath.
Another lucky event, and now he had a purple skill.
Blizzard Shot was practically divine for a kiting archer.
And that one-in-ten-thousand Blizzard effect was actually the level-30 signature spell of an ice mage, notorious for being absurdly strong.
…
"Lucky one, you are about to awaken your innate talent."
The ancient voice echoed again. A golden wheel appeared before Tidus, its surface filled with god-tier talents like Holy Damage, Multi-Strike Crit, Multi-Layer Defense, Multi-Reward, Divine Luck, Divine Evasion and many more.
Every single one was enough to make anyone jealous.
The wheel began spinning on its own. Tidus' heartbeat kicked up a little.
As an archer, damage mattered most. Holy Damage could ignore all defense. Multi-Strike Crit was also outstanding. Defense boosts, evasion boosts, or intelligence boosts were far less relevant to him.
The wheel slowed.
Ding!
"Congratulations! You have gained a god-tier talent: Fivefold Attack Speed!"
Talent: Fivefold Attack Speed
Effect: When activated, increases attack speed to five times the base value. In exchange, each attack consumes 2 MP.
Fivefold attack speed.
That meant an attack that normally happened once could now occur five times. His damage output was effectively multiplied by five.
And if Fivefold Attack Speed was paired with Blizzard Shot's 20% slow, he would be able to apply permanent slows on a target. Plus, with the increased attack frequency, the chance to trigger Blizzard was also multiplied by five.
This was absolutely a top-tier god talent for an archer.
Ding!
"Congratulations! You have received the Ancient God's blessing. Your god-tier talent Fivefold Attack Speed has been upgraded to the super god talent Tenfold Attack Speed!"
Talent: Tenfold Attack Speed
Effect: When activated, increases attack speed to ten times the base value. Each attack consumes 1 MP.
Description: When it comes to hand speed, even shut-in gamers cannot compete with you. Not even the gods would dare challenge you.
Tidus sucked in a long breath. He no longer had words for how he felt.
A god-tier talent was already outrageous, and it had now evolved into a super-god talent. He could not wait to jump into God World and unleash tenfold attack speed.
Before entering the game, he chose a name for himself.
Tyrant.
Then he checked his character stats.
Character: Tyrant
Level: 1
Race: Dragonborn
Class: Royal Archer
Talents: Tenfold Attack Speed, Half-Dragon Bloodline, Royal Marksman
Skills: Blizzard Shot (Purple)
Aptitude: 11 stars
Attack: 35
Defense: 5
Health: 275
Mana: 220
Attributes: Strength 11, Intelligence 11, Agility 11 (main stat), Constitution 11.
Luck: Hidden.
Aptitude represents your initial stat points and the free attribute points you gain per level.
Among the six basic classes in God World, all classes start with 5-star aptitude except for Knights, which are exclusive to game-pod players and start at 6 stars. That means their initial Strength, Intelligence, Agility, and Constitution all start at 5 points.
But Tidus' Royal Archer class and Half-Dragon Bloodline talent granted a total increase of 6 stars, giving him 11-star aptitude.
This meant his base stats and his free points per level were more than double those of normal players.
"Enter game!"
Having reviewed everything, Tidus could not wait any longer. He selected Enter Game.
The time was 9:56 AM. God World Ring users could log in 5 minutes early. No one else was online yet. Tidus was already inside the Novice Village.
