The moment Zarek was alone in his study, a loud growl left him. The sound was so loud that the windows rattled and his eyes became red.
He had fought a very hard battle to control himself when he was with Eliora because he didn't want to scare her.
He turned to the guard standing near the door and commanded, "Get Lily and the High Seer here."
The guard bowed quickly and rushed out of the room.
Left alone, Zarek closed his eyes. He gripped the edge of his desk and took deep breaths, trying to pull himself back together.
A short time later, the door opened. Lily and her granddaughter stepped in. The moment they entered, they dropped to their knees and bowed their heads.
Zarek turned around to face them, and as the two women lifted their heads, they saw his red eyes. Both of them stiffened, knowing right away that that meant their king was deeply angry.
"What troubles you, My King?" Lily asked.
"She appeared to my soulmate." Zarek informed them.
