A knock sounded on the door.
Knock. Knock.
Maelina's voice followed immediately from outside.
"Should I be worried about interrupting something important in there?"
Eliora instantly released Zarek's hand like she had been caught doing something wrong.
Zarek glanced down at their empty hands, then gave her a brief look, though he didn't say anything.
Outside, Maelina knocked again.
"Can I come in?"
Eliora quickly cleared her throat.
"Yes...yes, you can."
Zarek stood up just as the door opened.
Maelina walked in carrying a tray filled with food, bread, roasted meat, fruit, and a small jug of water.
Eliora smiled politely.
"Thank you."
She took the tray from Maelina and placed it carefully on the small table.
Maelina just stood there grinning. A very suspicious grin.
Eliora looked at her, then asked, "What?"
Maelina didn't answer. Instead, her eyes drifted to Eliora's neck, then lower toward her neckline. Her grin widened slowly.
Eliora frowned.
