Chapter 57 - Unscientific

"Over here, over here!" Lee Jordan waved to the twins who had just entered the hall. "You've finally decided to show up."

"What are you all doing here!" George sat down next to Lee Jordan and greeted the others.

"Isn't that obvious?" Lee Jordan couldn't help but roll his eyes at the two of them. "It's dinner time, where else would we go if we didn't eat here?"

"Yes, that's right. Could you please pass me the jam? Thank you." Fred spread a generous amount of jam on his bread, took a big bite, and asked, "What did you learn in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class this morning?"

"We spent half the lesson on dark creatures, and the rest of the time practicing how to fire red and green sparks." The one who answered him wasn't Lee Jordan, but Angelina sitting opposite them. The future Quidditch captain was scrutinizing the twins with a critical eye. "I heard you got thirty points deducted from Gryffindor this morning, wiping out all of Albert's points earned recently."

Fred picked up a piece of potato with the skin on with his fork and muttered, "We only lost twenty points."

"Ten points deducted from History of Magic." Albert looked up at the twins and asked, "Where did you two go this afternoon?"

"It's a secret!" Fred and George exchanged a knowing look and smiled mysteriously.

"Oh, right, there's one more thing." Lee Jordan seemed to remember something and said to the Weasley brothers, "Filch asked me to tell you that your detention will be tomorrow night in the trophy room."

"Looks like you guys won't be washing chamber pots this time. You'll be wiping trophies instead." After finishing his meal, Albert, who was wiping his mouth with a handkerchief, suddenly said, "By the way, I ran into William a while ago. He seemed to have just finished washing the chamber pots at the school hospital."

"Please don't talk about these things during mealtimes," Shanna said, giving Albert a disapproving look. "It will affect everyone's appetite."

"I remember we have an astronomy class tonight," Arya said with difficulty, changing the subject. "Has anyone been to the Astronomy Tower?"

"Don't look at me, I've never been there," Li Qiaodan said, shaking his head first. "By the way, what time does the astronomy class start tonight?"

"It starts at 9:30," Albert said, glancing at the timetable.

"So late?" Angelina took out her class schedule from her backpack and glanced at it. Sure enough, it was this time.

It's worth noting that Hogwarts has a curfew starting at 11 p.m.

"Don't worry, we went to the top of the Astronomy Tower at noon."

"That's wonderful!" Albert nodded to the twins and said, "You two will be in charge of leading the way for everyone. Don't forget to bring your binoculars. Oh, and the notes on Defense Against the Dark Arts and History of Magic."

As he spoke, Albert took two books out of his bag and placed them on the table.

"Let me go first!" Li Qiaodan reached for the book.

"We can each copy one subject, and then take turns copying later." The twins were faster than Li Qiaodan.

Compared to borrowing notes from others, Albert's notes on the history of magic are clearly more reliable.

"you..."

"Ahem, how's your mastery of the glowing charm going? It seems we have Transfiguration and Charms classes tomorrow." Arya glanced at the shameless twins and continued, "My matchsticks haven't changed at all yet."

"Sanna, how's your two spells coming along? Oh, right, I almost forgot the two spells from Defense Against the Dark Arts class too." Angelina was a little annoyed; her match hadn't made any progress, even though she hadn't devoted much time and energy to practicing magic lately.

"I've only mastered the Light Charm." Shanna breathed a sigh of relief after hearing everyone's situation. She had been practicing the Light Charm these past few days and had barely managed to master it.

"Don't worry," Albert reassured him. "Professors McGonagall and Flitwick will both set aside time for us in class. Of course, you can practice on the weekends."

"Albert doesn't have to worry about homework, how enviable!" Fred exclaimed dramatically.

Albert rolled his eyes upon hearing this, thinking to himself, "What's there to be envious of? Just practice hard yourself."

"And you?" George asked his roommate.

"Well, I've almost mastered the Luminous Charm. But Transfiguration is really difficult." Li Jordan thought about the difficulty of Transfiguration and couldn't help but sigh.

"Li, when did you learn the Light Charm?" Fred and George looked at their roommate in surprise.

We agreed that everyone was at the same level, so why did you sneak off on your own?

"Last night… I was practicing the Light Charm the whole time, okay?" Li Qiaodan said irritably.

"As expected, Transfiguration is still more difficult?" Arya looked up at Albert. The others also looked at Albert.

Albert was speechless for a moment: What are you all looking at me for?

"I asked you to teach everyone," Fred said, putting his arm around Albert's neck. "Do you have any tips or tricks?"

"There's no secret to it; it just requires everyone to practice," Albert said with a helpless expression. "Professor McGonagall has also mentioned the points that need attention."

It's nothing more than remembering to concentrate when practicing, to wave the wand smoothly, and to say the correct spells.

Of course, learning Transfiguration requires personal effort.

Actually, there are some things Albert didn't say: unless you also have a control panel like me.

At 7 p.m., everyone gathered again in the auditorium to practice spells together.

However, everyone realized they didn't have any matches, and in the end, George broke off a small twig from outside to use as a match.

"Ahem, actually you can turn the twigs into matches," Arya reminded her.

"That's a good idea," others chimed in.

"VeraVerto." Albert's lips twitched, he sighed softly, picked up his wand and gently tapped the twig, instantly turning it into a match.

"Copy in pairs!"

Albert then made several more copies of the matches and distributed them to others for practice.

Professor McGonagall said that transfiguration was a very difficult subject, and she was right. Until they went to astronomy class, no one had successfully transformed a match.

"This is not scientific, why is it so difficult!" Shanna couldn't help but complain.

"Of course this is unscientific, after all, it's magic!" Albert really wanted to complain, but he held back in the end.

As a girl walked by, she overheard the group's complaints. She lingered near Albert for a moment and said to them, "Transfiguration is inherently difficult. Without spending several days practicing diligently, it's very difficult to succeed on your first try, especially for freshmen who are just beginning to learn magic."

Good evening, Katrina.

Katrina simply nodded to Albert and walked away.

"I hope we don't have astronomy class with Ravenclaw," Angelina muttered; she didn't like the guy.

"Some people in Ravenclaw have rather eccentric temperaments, and we also have our astronomy class with the Hufflepuff students." Albert took out his pocket watch, checked the time, and looked up at everyone, saying, "Alright, we should go now, be careful not to be late."
