The Master of the Heavens still stood at the corridor entrance, in the exact posture he had held nine years ago, as if time itself had never touched him. He lifted his hand slightly. The newly formed golden core energy in the fox and the rabbit turned into two thin red and white threads, returning quietly into his sleeve.
"Your cores have formed. You may now stand within the true gate of the sect."
His voice was calm, yet carried the weight of a tide rolling in from a distant shore. With two fingers he tapped lightly. Two seals, one red and one white, became a small fire bird and a moonlit laurel. They sank into the space between the two disciples' brows.
"These seals will shield you once from death. Fortune is approaching. You may descend the mountain."
Just as the fox and the rabbit were about to bow, the entire palace shook violently. The seawater beyond the hall rose without any wind, lifting in towering waves as if a giant hand were pushing the Master, the Holy Mother of the Turtle Spirit, and the two young cultivators upward toward the surface.
When the blinding light faded, they finally saw what lay ahead.Dark clouds churned above the direction of Golden Tortoise Island. Purple lightning tore across the sky like countless serpents weaving between sea and heavens. Nine years ago, such power would have terrified them. But now...
Red raised his hand. The patterns on the Burning Star Tower flared bright. Three thousand fire birds burst forth, soaring into the sky. Wherever their flames swept, the thunder clouds were dyed crimson.
Snow formed a seal. The cold moon wheel circled her, sending out silver light that pushed the lightning back three full spans.
The Holy Mother stood at the front, her robes stirring in the sea wind. A rare warmth glimmered in her eyes."Nine years of seclusion. You can finally stand with me."
At the same moment, far away in the Jade Void Palace, the list of deities trembled. A single speck of dust rose and rode the east wind, descending upon the sea where fire and moonlight intertwined, as though quietly recording the names of these two newly formed core cultivators.
The roar of the tide could not drown the beating of their hearts. In the fox's chest burned a rising sun.In the rabbit's core sea lifted a full silver moon.
They knew they were no longer the small lost creatures who once wandered in mountain caves. No longer fledglings waiting for protection. No longer insignificant pieces pushed around by fate.
They were now fire. They were now moonlight. They were stepping into the center of the coming storm, ready for their own chapter.
Whatever lay ahead, they finally had the strength to face it together.
