Chapter 9 - Nowhere to Stay

In this era, crafting metal was difficult and without proper tools, the stone pots were naturally extremely hard to make.

While the original owner of this body treated two clay pots as family treasures, these warriors were already using stone cookware to cook.

Of course, the gap between herself and Minho was outrageously large.

He became a warrior at eighteen, while at eighteen she had still been freeloading meals.

If she remembered correctly, Minho was only twenty this year?

Hayoon shoveled another spoonful of tubers into her mouth and chewing it as she made a firm decision: she, too, had to work hard and improve their living conditions!

At the very least, she should start by making something tasty!

The people in the beastmen world were strong and their appetites were huge.

She was one of the weaker sub-beastmen in the tribe, yet she still needed to eat more than ten kilograms of food a day; Minho had to eat several dozen kilograms.

Thinking about it like that, the pressure was immense.

Hayoon was the last to finish eating and Haeun enthusiastically volunteered to wash the bowls.

The evening glow was crimson and the sky gradually darkened.

Before they had even gone to look for the tribal chief, the chief's son came looking for them.

His name is Beom.

He's a beastman and his beast form a grizzly bear.

In human form, he was tall and strong, with gray hair, slightly thick lips, and a rugged, handsome face.

His lower body was wrapped in a woven grass skirt, exposing his bronze-colored chest.

Beom and Minho were of the same generation.

He greeted Minho first before walking over to Hayoon and asking about her condition.

"I've recovered quite well," Hayoon said. She glanced meaningfully at his grass skirt before continuing, "It's just that our cave collapsed, so I wanted to ask if there's any cave in the tribe we can borrow to stay temporarily."

Beom said, "I actually came here to talk to you about that."

"The tribe originally had a few caves reserved for guests, but because of the heavy rains this year, I went to check them today, and all those caves have been flooded badly. They're at risk of collapsing and are unfit for anyone to live in."

This news was undoubtedly another blow to Hayoon.

Haeun stood anxiously beside her, he also worried.

Beom noticed his expression, so he glanced toward Minho before suggesting, "Minho's cave has two levels. The first level is usually reserved for sick beastmen and he doesn't stay there himself."

"Right now, there aren't any other patients. So I was thinking could you and your younger brother stay here for a while? Once the weather clears and a new cave is dug out, you can move out."

Hayoon naturally couldn't object to this arrangement.

The real question was: Minho was famously unsociable and his cave was dug in the most remote part of the tribe.

Would he really be willing to take them in?
