Chapter 15 - Repairing the Caves

Rushing and hurrying, just as the morning glow shimmered across the sky and golden light began to rise, the siblings reached the far eastern side of the mountain.

A good number of people had already gathered in the open mountain area.

The beastmen as well as sub-beastmen all come to here to help.

Hayoon slid off Haeun's back.

She then tightened the vine straps of the basket and walked toward the crowd.

Haeun turned back into his human form and followed closely behind her.

"Hayoon, Haeun, you're here."

"How's your injury?"

The members of the tribe greeted them warmly.

Even though Hayoon had inherited the original owner's memories and knew beastmen all had extremely high looks, seeing them with her own eyes still left her secretly stunned.

A whole group of men over 1.8 meters tall, each handsome in a different way, wearing nothing but grass skirts or animal-skin skirts, all of them standing together.

The visual impact was simply overwhelming.

Years of constant labor had shaped their bodies into perfect athletic forms.

Their broad shoulders, narrow waists, defined abs, and sharp Adonis lines, not lacking in anything.

Compared to beastmen, the sub-beastmen were slimmer, but all of them had long arms and legs, straight proportions, and refined faces.

Any one of them placed in the modern world would easily become a top model.

The original owner already had a decent figure, but compared with other sub-beastmen, she actually looked a bit undernourished.

In her previous life she never dated anyone.

After being admitted into an agricultural university, she practically lived in the fields every day.

Over time, she became socially anxious.

With so many people talking to her, she didn't know how to respond.

"Mm, my little brother and I came to help."

"My injury is much better."

Fortunately, the original owner had also been a quiet and withdrawn type, so her awkwardness didn't arouse suspicion.

Even the tribe chief, Baek, came today.

Like his son Beom, his beast form was also a grizzly bear.

Because of his age, his hair was gray white and his face bore wrinkles carved by the years.

His back was slightly hunched and he leaned on a cane.

He had already divided the tasks: one group of beastmen would transport sand and soil, another group would carry wood.

The sub-beastmen, meanwhile, handled assisting tasks.

They're tasked to picking out stones from the sand, carrying water, moving lighter items, and so on.

Hayoon watched the beastmen transform one after another: a crowd of black bears, gray bears, white bears, mixed with a few feline and canine beast forms.

As for white giant pythons… there was only Minho.

He had no sharp claws, so he led the team carrying wood.

The beastmen assigned to transport sand had already begun using their claws to dig into the mountain soil, quickly piling dirt into mounds.

Hayoon said, "Haeun, hurry up and follow me."

They stopped beside one of the dirt piles.

Hayoon bent down, flipped the soil a little, and immediately felt a round, firm object.

"Found it!" She pulled it out, patted off the dirt, and examined it.

Haeun saw it and asked, "Sis, don't tell me the thing you wanted to find is this Tangroot?"

"That's the one."

The Tangrrot she referred to was round, about the size of her fist.

Hayoon held it to her nose and sniffed it.

There was a strong, pungent smell, similar to wild scallions.

But unlike wild scallions, which only had a few long roots at the bottom, Tangroot had their entire rhizome covered in fine hair like roots.

Yesterday when Hayoon said they were starting repairs from the eastern side, she immediately remembered that this slope had a lot of Tangroot growing on it.

If she were to dig alone, she'd need three whole days to harvest them all.

But since the beastmen were digging up soil anyway, she quickly wove some baskets and came here to collect the Tangroot.
