Chapter 5 - The Collapsed Home

Aside from being fierce and skilled in battle, he was also the Ur-Shet Tribe's most capable healer among the beastmen and she was currently receiving treatment in his cave.

Thinking of how she had fainted in fright from seeing Minho's beast form earlier made her desperately want to crawl into a hole and disappear.

"Minho, thank you for saving me. I'll gather the supplies you requested as soon as possible." Supplies, in this world, were the equivalent of "medical fees."

The tall and upright beastman responded with a faint, indifferent "Mm."

Feeling awkward all over, Hayoon lowered her voice and said, "Since I'm already awake, I'll head home a little later."

"You can't go back."

"Hm?"

"Haeun said your cave collapsed."

Hayoon stared blankly. "Col… collapsed?"

How could it have collapsed?

Where were they supposed to live now?

Haeun returned with water.

In the dim cave, she thought he was holding a clay bowl at first glance.

But after receiving it, she realized it was a roughly made and earth colored pottery vessel.

Continuing from Minho's words, Haeun said, "It's been raining nonstop lately and our cave got washed down."

Hayoon's throat felt like it was burning.

After drinking a sip of the cool water, she nervously asked, "You didn't get hurt, right?"

"No, I wasn't in the cave at the time." He puffed up proudly as he spoke, "Later, I went back and carried out everything we could still use."

"That's good. Where did you put everything?"

Haeun raised his hand and immediately, several chipped wooden basins, two wooden spoons, two pieces of salted meat and a worn stone slab appeared on the empty ground before them.

"Here," he said.

Only then did Hayoon remember that all beastmen possessed a personal storage space.

When they were born, the space was about half a cubic meter and as their strength increased the space expanded.

However, the expansion was limited.

Adult sub-beastmen only had about one cubic meter.

Beastmen could have anywhere from a few cubic meters to over a dozen.

Someone as exceptionally powerful as Minho who had been chosen as a tribal warrior at such a young age probably had around twenty cubic meters.

There was no airflow inside a storage space, so no one could store living creatures.

And because the volume was small, people typically stored only their most essential resources.

Beastmen also kept their clothing inside; this way, when they transformed, the clothes would automatically be worn on their bodies.

The connection to the storage space was mystical.

For example, if she simply focused her mind now, she could clearly "see" what was inside her own space.

The ropes that was made of hemp, the bone knives, the stone shovels, these were her essential gathering tools for survival.

Animal hides, animal fat, medicinal herbs, these were precious daily necessities.

Aside from that, there was a dark red pottery jar, a pottery cauldron of the same color, and a pile of broken pottery shards.

The pottery showed very little sign of use; it was obvious the original owner cherished them greatly.
