Chapter 443 - Chapter 443: Double Kill! Thor Rescued!

Chapter 443: Double Kill! Thor Rescued!

A ghostly, vivid crimson flower of blood bloomed.

The divine spear, propelled with the force of a god, transfixed both bodies simultaneously. Destructive laser energy surged through them, reaping their lives like a Grim Reaper swinging a scythe.

"Ugh..." Proxima Midnight let out a muffled groan. She tremblingly raised her right hand to caress Corvus Glaive's cheek.

"Sorry... I... I was a step too slow," Corvus Glaive whispered, looking down at the spear piercing both their chests, his eyes filled with guilt and sorrow.

"I'll go first, old friend," Proxima Midnight's eyes gradually closed. Her life force vanished in an instant, leaving behind only a cold corpse.

"ARGH!" Corvus Glaive let out a cry of pure heartbreak. Because of his powerful self-healing abilities, he didn't die instantly, but his end was near.

This was a divine spear personally crafted by Thanos, carrying particles that disintegrated cellular structures. No matter how strong a healing factor was, there was no escaping death once struck by it.

The battlefield fell silent. Everyone watched the scene unfold, save for the Shadow Khan and the mindless alien foot soldiers who continued to clash. Corvus Glaive shouted until his voice went hoarse and then failed entirely, his mouth still open in a silent scream of agony. His hateful eyes remained locked onto Silas.

With a final, trembling effort, Corvus tried to pick up his glaive to throw it at his executioner.

Clang!

The weapon fell from his limp fingers. The light faded from Corvus Glaive's eyes.

Silas watched with indifference. Their deaths were touching in a way, but they were the enemy. Truthfully, had it not been for the spear, Silas wouldn't have finished them so quickly; it would have taken at least another minute.

"Clean up the rest of the enemies, and then you can return," Silas said to the Shadow Generals, his back turned as he looked toward the sky.

The Generals nodded and got to work. Rei stared deeply at Silas's domineering silhouette. She felt a sting of frustration—she still wasn't strong enough.

"Silas! Where are you? We need backup now!" Peter Parker's voice crackled in Silas's ear.

Peter was currently wrestling with Cull Obsidian, while Tony had gone to rescue the "wizard with the goatee."

"Hold on, I'll send someone to help. I have enemies here too," Silas said before cutting the transmission. He turned to the Shadow Generals. "Change of plans. I need you to go help out in New York."

In Deep Space

"Is this guy seriously still alive?" Star-Lord asked, staring at the body floating in front of him.

This was Thor, who had been teleported away after the explosion on the starship. His breathing was incredibly faint, but he was alive. Curiously, a tiny, finger-sized axe was stuck to his chest.

"He's not a guy. You're a guy. This... this is a man."

"He's handsome, muscular—it's amazing," Drax couldn't help but admire.

"I'm muscular too!" Peter Quill argued, pointing at himself.

Rocket Raccoon scoffed. "Give it up, Quill. You're one sandwich away from being fat."

"Yes, Quill, you..." Drax gestured toward his own stomach, drawing a circle in the air.

Quill was instantly offended. "No way. Gamora, do you think I—"

Before he could finish, Gamora walked over to the unconscious man and nodded in silent agreement with Drax. Quill was left speechless.

High above their ship, a mysterious figure watched them with a smile before vanishing into the cosmic void.

"His heart is filled with despair, the realization of death, guilt, and a desperate thirst for power," Mantis said, sensing Thor's emotions.

None of them noticed the mysterious observer. After a brief discussion, they decided to have Mantis wake him up. She knelt down and placed her hand on Thor's forehead. "Wake up."

"ARGH!" Thor's eyes snapped open. He bolted upright like a zombie and scrambled forward, gasping for air. He turned slowly to see the Guardians of the Galaxy. "Who are you?"

They exchanged introductions, and Thor began to piece together his situation.

"I... I thought I was dead. That axe passed right through me..." Thor reached out to touch his chest, only to find no scar. When he pulled his clothing aside, the skin was perfectly intact.

"Uh... you don't mean this axe, do you?" Rocket picked up a tiny, toy-like axe from where Thor had been lying.

Thor's eyes widened. "That's it! But why is it so small now?"

"Heh. If I got hit by something that small, I wouldn't even blink," Quill said, flexing his arm.

Ignoring him, Gamora asked, "You said it changed size?"

"It used to be... this big," Thor gestured with his hands. "Now it's tiny."

"Wait!" Thor tremblingly touched his right eye—the one Hela had blinded. It was healed! He knew the limits of his own healing factor. What had happened while he was unconscious?

"What's with this guy? He's a bit jumpy," Drax whispered to Gamora. She shook her head; she had no idea what Thor was thinking.

"We have to leave immediately!" Thor began packing whatever supplies he could find.

"Ahem! This is our ship. Are you trying to hijack us?" Quill asked, deepening his voice to match Thor's masculine baritone.

"Wait, are you lowering your voice on purpose?" Rocket asked.

"No," Quill said.

"He is. He's totally imitating the god-man," Drax added.

"I said I'm not!" Quill puffed out his chest.

"Ha! He did it again!" Mantis said, covering her mouth in surprise.

Thor stepped up to Quill, looking him in the eye. "Are you mocking me?"

"Are you mocking me?" Quill countered. This was his ship; he wasn't going to back down. Though internally, he suspected he couldn't actually beat this guy in a fight.

"Stop it, both of you! The priority is Thanos! We need to find out where he's going next!" Gamora yelled.

Thor glanced at Quill and said simply, "Knowhere."

"We need a specific place, not just 'nowhere'," Mantis said softly.

"No, 'Knowhere' is the place. We've been to that dump before," Quill explained.

Thor then explained that Thanos was heading there because the Collector held the Reality Stone. No one believed a collector could protect such a thing—if the price was right, he'd sell his own mother. And Thanos wouldn't even pay; he'd just take it.

"Only an idiot would leave a Stone with the Collector," Quill mocked.

"Who knows? Maybe he's a genius," Thor chuckled.

They began to deliberate. The fate of the universe was at stake; no one could stay on the sidelines.

"We should ambush him at Knowhere," Gamora suggested.

"No. We are going to Nidavellir," Thor countered.

"Is that even real? I thought it was just a legend," Rocket said. He had heard of the place—a legendary forge where god-tier weapons were made.

Earth

"Whoa!" Peter Parker was in the middle of a wrestling match with Cull Obsidian on the streets of New York.

Cull Obsidian had grabbed Peter's webs and was currently spinning the young hero through the air.

"Mr. Stark! Have you caught the 'Squidward' guy and the doctor yet?" Peter yelled as he dodged an axe swing.

Elsewhere, Tony was in hot pursuit of Ebony Maw. The Maw was using his telekinesis to hurl obstacles at Tony, trying to reach the circular warship. A beam of blue light shot down, pulling Maw and the captured Doctor Strange toward the ship.

At that moment, the heavens above New York rippled. A beam of holy light erupted, and a devastating attack slammed into the alien warship.
