Chapter 170 - Chapter 170: Peril

Chapter 170: Peril

Tony's body was rapidly descending. The large rock behind him plunged into the water first, splashing up waves tens of meters high, which hit Tony's face. Just as Tony was about to be completely drenched, the Mark 42 flew to his back, quickly completing the armor's assembly around him.

Clang! Suddenly, a piece of rock smashed into Tony's arm.

"Ugh!" Tony bit his teeth in pain, but the armor thankfully blocked most of the damage.

Splash! Tony, along with the armor, fell into the water.

The helicopters in the sky ceased their attack, quietly watching the water surface. As soon as Stark dared to surface, he would be greeted by a barrage of missiles.

"Tony!" Pepper climbed to the edge of the high ground, crying.

In the Helicopter

"Take that woman back."

"Roger." Upon hearing the order, the pilot immediately maneuvered the helicopter to approach Pepper.

Boom!

Suddenly! A missile struck the helicopter's tail rotor. The entire aircraft began to lose control and plummeted toward the ground.

"Don't come near here, it's dangerous," Tony, clad in the Mark 42, appeared before Pepper.

"Thank goodness, you're okay," Pepper sighed in relief.

Tony's eyes sharpened as he turned to look at the terrorists and said, "It's time to give them a taste of their own medicine."

Whoosh! Tony flew high, charging toward the terrorists without hesitation. Countless missiles whizzed past him, none of them managing to harm him in the slightest.

"Go back and complain to your mothers," Tony raised his arm, energy converging in his palm, preparing to fire the repulsor ray.

Sizzle sizzle sizzle~ The armor's arm suddenly malfunctioned, preventing a normal attack.

"F*ck!" Tony shook his hand, trying to attempt firing the repulsor again.

Boom! A missile struck his chest. The powerful impact blasted Tony back into the dilapidated remains of the mansion.

Clang! Boom! Bang!

Tony skidded continuously across the ground until he crashed into a thick wall, finally stopping.

"Ugh..." Tony stared groggily at the screen, which kept flashing "System Failure." Blood streamed from Tony's head. Dizzily, he seemed to hear Pepper's voice.

"Tony!"

"Tony!"

Ignoring the pain in his body, Tony propped himself up with his hands and slowly stood up. However, before his footing was even stable, the terrorists' missiles struck again!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The already ruined mansion completely gave way, collapsing entirely. Due to the thruster malfunction, Tony couldn't fly away, so he could only grab onto an edge again to keep from falling.

"Tony!" Pepper, seeing the rubble under her feet, ran toward Tony despite the danger.

Hearing her, Tony looked over, and upon seeing Pepper run toward him, he quickly shouted, "No! Don't come over! Listen! It's not safe here!"

"Don't worry, I'm coming right now." Pepper wouldn't abandon Tony. Even though it was extremely dangerous, she still wouldn't leave him.

"Watch out behind you!" Tony, seeing a person suddenly appear behind Pepper, shouted urgently.

"Behind me?" Just as Pepper turned her head, an unfamiliar man clapped his hand over her mouth and dragged her away from the spot. Pepper was just an ordinary woman, unable to break free from the man's grip.

Tony watched helplessly as Pepper was pulled away, shouting furiously, "Let go..."

Before he could finish his sentence, a car smashed down onto his head, and both plummeted into the sea.

The terrorists, seeing the mission accomplished, sneered contemptuously. Iron Man? More like Scrap Metal Man, wasn't he? After mocking Stark internally, they flew their helicopters away.

In the Sea

Tony gasped for breath, pinned under debris and a car in the water. He couldn't find a way to move the clutter in front of him.

"Jarvis, help," Tony said.

Jarvis immediately controlled the armor's hand unit to detach from Tony's body. It grabbed Tony's hand, pulled him up, and then quickly returned to his arm.

"Thrusters restored to normal function," Jarvis reported.

Then, controlling the Mark 42 armor, he carried Tony and burst out of the sea! Whoosh! They flew towards the distance.

On the Ruins

"Did we arrive too late?" a person in a red tight suit asked weakly.

"I told you, Peter, you should rest properly! Listen! Your voice is so weak, you sound exhausted," Silas complained beside him.

Peter smiled and waved his hand, saying, "Come on, Silas, I'm not weak. I stopped a whole train."

"And then you collapsed from exhaustion," Silas countered. Peter was awake now, but hadn't fully recovered to his physical peak yet; he still needed time to recuperate slowly.

"..." Peter crouched down miserably, quietly drawing circles on the ground.

"Stark has already flown away; we can't catch up to him," Silas said, gazing into the distance.

"I wonder where Mr. Stark is flying to," Peter said.

When he woke up this morning, after eating a huge amount of food, he sat on the couch planning to rest well, only to see a news report from last night.

Shocking! Tony Stark Reveals His Private Address!

Tony Stark and the Terrorists: Secrets They Can't Talk About!

Faced with a Terrorist's Challenge, Tony Stark Actually...

Seeing this, Peter immediately guessed that Mr. Stark might be in trouble. He quickly put on his Spider-Suit, slipped into school, and pulled Silas out during a class break when he was about to go to the bathroom. Reluctantly, Silas had to take a temporary absence from one class and brought Peter here.

"Hey! Silas, can't you fly with your armor?" Peter suddenly remembered that Silas had that flying armor.

"I can't fly as fast as him," Silas offered a casual excuse. Since he knew the plot, Stark wouldn't die, at least not at this point. Attending to his own matters was more important right now.

"This place looks like a garbage dump now," Peter said, looking around.

Silas nodded, "Indeed, it's nothing but ruins."

Clang!

"Peter, what are you doing?" Silas's mouth twitched. He saw Peter rummaging through the debris.

"I'm checking to see if Mr. Stark has any important items here." Peter thought about it. Since he was already here, he shouldn't leave empty-handed. He would look for any important items and return them to Mr. Stark when he came back.

"Don't worry, Peter, I have a whole army of Black Shadow Ninjas," Silas said, waving his hand and summoning the Black Shadow Ninjas. Silas put his hand on Peter's shoulder and said, "Leave it to them, and we'll return the items to Stark later." Peter's words also reminded Silas that if there were indeed any important items, he wouldn't mind taking them.

"Okay." Peter put down the rock in his hand and said, "Ow~ I don't know why, even though I slept until ten in the morning, I still feel sleepy."

"That's normal. Your body is slowly recovering. Get some more sleep when you go back, and your injuries will heal quickly," Silas said.

Peter thought the same thing. It was time for Spider-Man to take a day off.

A certain room

"Is that Killian trash dead?"
