"I think the teacher is here," Misty said, looking back and seeing the teacher's figure.
Silas turned his head. Sure enough, the teacher had arrived. It looked like his brother was in trouble.
Soon, the result came out: Peter and Flash Thompson were caught fighting, and their parents were both notified.
The Office
"Yes, Teacher, I understand. I will talk to Peter," Ben Parker said. He had rushed to the school despite being at work.
He immediately took time off as soon as he heard the news about Peter.
Teacher Gedec sat in his chair. "Peter has always been a very bright student. To be honest, I was a little shocked that he was involved in a fight."
"However, since it happened, he needs to be properly disciplined. I will also look into the matter. I know Peter, so you two can go home now," Gedec said.
As Peter's teacher, he understood the boy's character. Although he hadn't fully investigated, he had a pretty good idea of what caused it.
"Thank you, Teacher," Ben Parker said, bowing in thanks, then left the office with Peter.
Silas, who had been listening by the door, saw Uncle Ben come out and asked, "Is everything alright?"
"Everything is fine. Silas, Peter, you two go home. I'm going back to work now," Ben Parker waved them off and walked toward the school exit first.
Peter watched Ben Parker's hunched back and blamed himself in a low voice. "I shouldn't have troubled Uncle Ben..."
"What are you thinking? Let's go home," Silas, with his enhanced hearing, naturally heard what Peter said.
"Mhm," Peter's mood sank.
The two walked all the way to the school gate, where Ned Leeds was waiting for Peter.
As soon as he saw Peter, Ned said, "Way to go, Peter! I've been annoyed with that guy for ages!"
Peter said to Silas, "Silas, Ned and I have something to do. You go on home first."
"Something? We..." Ned was confused about what they had to do, but Peter quickly covered his mouth and looked at Silas awkwardly.
"Oh~ I get it~" Silas gave Peter a knowing look, then waved. "See you at home, bro!"
Silas then left by himself.
"Hey!" Peter, realizing Silas misunderstood, put his hand down and was about to explain.
Ned laughed. "Peter, thank goodness you've finally come to your senses. I know some good places. Let's go."
"Ned, you go home. I have something else to do," Peter said, looking helplessly at the retreating Silas, then turned to Ned.
Ned shrugged. "Sure, you can go by yourself if you want, but these places are really good. I'd recommend them."
However, Peter simply turned and left, waving his hand behind him without looking back.
"Alright! See you later!" Ned shouted, then whispered to himself, "You're going to grow up to be a man, Peter."
Abandoned Industrial Area
"Phew~" Peter arrived at the location.
Thinking about what happened today, he couldn't help but want to test his abilities.
Peter went to a large, discarded machine, looked at his hands, and said, "Okay, Peter, you can do this."
Peter placed his hands on the machine and started to exert force.
"Oh my god~" Peter lifted the large machine, and he could feel that he wasn't even using much effort.
Peter set the machine down and went to a wall. "I remember waking up this morning hanging from the ceiling."
Peter reached out with his right hand, and his whole body began to climb up. "Oh my God~"
"This is amazing." Peter immediately became excited and started dancing and climbing on the wall.
Over the next period of time, Peter constantly tested his abilities and became more and more proficient.
What Peter didn't know was that a pair of eyes was constantly watching him from a dark place.
"Looks like he's starting to get the hang of it," the person was none other than Silas.
However, he had changed into a Shadowkhan ninja suit and was wearing a brown mask on his face. This mask was the one belonging to Tarakudo.
He currently had the right to summon the humanoid Shadowkhan forces but not the other types.
Because he was wearing the mask, Silas's voice had changed into a demonic, layered baritone.
After leaving Peter's sight, he immediately ducked into an alley and, after confirming there were no security cameras, summoned a Shadowkhan ninja. The two immediately exchanged clothes, and the Shadowkhan ninja walked toward home, disguised as Silas.
To conceal the Shadowkhan ninja's eyes, Silas had even given it a pair of sunglasses.
Silas had guessed Peter would go off to test his powers, and sure enough, he had followed Peter all the way here.
The sun gradually set.
Peter, seeing that it was getting late, picked up his backpack and left.
Silas had already departed. After confirming Peter's location, he returned home a few minutes later.
Ben Parker's House in Queens
"I'm home," Peter said, opening the door.
"Oh~ where have you been? Why are you back so late?" Aunt May came over to Peter worriedly and took his backpack.
Peter apologized to Aunt May, "I'm sorry, Aunt May," while glancing at Ben Parker on the sofa.
"Alright, since you're both back, let's eat," Ben Parker didn't seem concerned about Peter's issue. He shouted upstairs, "Silas! Dinner is ready!"
"Coming!" Silas, who was upstairs, ran down as soon as he heard the call.
When the Shadowkhan ninja had first returned home, it hadn't said a word to Aunt May and had rushed upstairs. Aunt May had only seen its back.
The Shadowkhan ninja went upstairs and played a pre-recorded message: "Aunt May! I'm going up to rest. Please try not to disturb me!"
It wasn't until Silas returned to the room through the window that he remembered he hadn't dismissed the two Shadowkhan ninjas from the morning.
However, with their skill, Aunt May was unlikely to find them, and more importantly, Silas and Peter were older now, so Aunt May wouldn't enter their rooms casually.
"Peter, why are you home so late?" Silas pretended to be puzzled.
Peter quickly changed the subject. "What, are you hungry?"
"A little, actually," Silas said, going along with Peter.
The family then finished their dinner.
Peter approached Ben Parker, and the two went to Peter's room.
"What's going on?" Aunt May asked, confused.
Ben Parker had avoided telling Aunt May about Peter's fight at school so she wouldn't worry.
"It's nothing," Silas wouldn't say anything either. Instead, he said to Aunt May, "Aunt May, I'll help you clean up."
"Oh~ Thank you, Silas." Aunt May kissed Silas on the forehead. She suddenly realized how much Silas had grown up and matured.
Peter's Room
"Uncle Ben, I..." Peter broke the silence first, but then he didn't know what to say.
"It's okay, Peter. I'm not angry. I know you, and I know you're not that kind of person," Ben Parker said with a gentle smile.
Peter was stunned by Ben Parker's smile and was at a loss for words.
Ben Parker stood up, hugged Peter, and patted his back. "You and Silas, both of you are my pride."
Ben Parker let go of Peter and straightened his collar. "Peter, just be yourself." He then walked toward the door.
At the door, Ben Parker suddenly turned back and asked, "By the way, why aren't you wearing your glasses?"
"Uh... nothing. They started hurting after wearing them for so long," Peter quickly touched his nose bridge.
"Mhm." Ben Parker nodded and left.
But Peter could tell that Ben Parker knew he was lying; the excuse was too flimsy.
However, Ben Parker didn't press the issue any further.
"Thank you, Uncle Ben," Peter smiled again.
