Chapter 6 - Breaking The Commitment

"Ahhh, finally home," Kael sighed wearily. It was already dawn.

Before him stood the grand Virkninges family home, his home, proudly displayed.

After speaking briefly with Eleanor, he went outside and quickly made his way to the carriage. It had taken him all night to return home, barely sleeping.

"Hmm?" Looking at the tense guards at the gate, he couldn't help but feel that something was wrong.

And indeed, upon taking a closer look around, he could see more carriages parked nearby, and according to Kael's memories, these carriages belonged to...

"Ana?" he muttered, feeling even more confused.

He quickly began to search the depths of his memories, coming across a revealing piece of information.

In the novel, Ana, one of the heroines, was engaged to Kael, but before the plot began, the two had broken off their engagement long ago.

But now it didn't seem that way. In fact, according to Kael's memories, they were still engaged.

However, observing the tense expressions of the guards and his own memories, he easily deduced that the reason Ana's family, the Vailor family, and Ana herself had visited his house was to cancel the engagement.

Sigh

Kael let out a tired sigh. "I'll die of exhaustion before I get to taste a beauty if I keep this up," he thought, walking forward.

The guards naturally let him pass without any trouble.

And so, before him, a scene unfolded that he had seen in countless romantic and urban novels.

The heroine, Ana, sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, a cold expression on her face.

Next to her were the members of the Vailor family, their faces complex.

And in front of them were the members of the Virkninges family, their expressions sombre.

Feeling someone enter, they all turned their gaze to Kael.

Kael raised an eyebrow. His appearance and carefree attitude surprised those present, especially Ana.

"I'll get straight to the point. You want to break off the engagement, right? Okay, just give me the paper and I'll sign it," Kael declared, his voice neither loud nor soft, in the perfect tone for everyone to hear.

Those present were even more surprised.

Ana, watching Kael, seemed the most shocked of all. "How handsome," she thought unconsciously as she looked at Kael's face.

But she quickly shook her head, her cheeks turning crimson. "How can I think that about this bastard?"

Kael watched every change in Ana's expression. Her young, innocent face was like a blank slate, revealing all her thoughts.

"Ahem, ahem, thank you very much for your understanding, young Master Kael," interrupted a voice beside Ana, an old man.

"Don't worry, Mr. Vailor, just give me the papers so I can get this done as soon as possible," Kael said, approaching the old man, the head of the Vailor family.

The old man, faster than lightning, took out a piece of paper.

Upon reading it, Kael nodded, finding it quite simple. It was to break off the engagement, and obviously, the Vailor family was going to give him a hefty sum of money for disrespecting them, but other than that, there was nothing unusual about it.

After thinking about it for a moment, Kael grabbed a pen from the table and signed it with precision.

"It's done," he said.

The members of the Virkninges family looked relieved. After all, they hadn't been offended. They understood the Vailor family's decision quite well, given Kael's reputation.

What really worried them was the young man's reaction, but when they saw him sign as if nothing had happened, all the elders, the high-ranking members of the Virkninges family, sighed with relief.

"All right, thank you very much, young master," said Alphon, the elder of the Vailor family, grabbing the agreement with a bitter expression.

After all, who wouldn't want to join the family of the Dukes of Virkninges?

The Vailor family, as a family of Counts, naturally wanted this great opportunity.

Alphon shook his head at this unfortunate outcome, feeling genuine frustration for his granddaughter.

Ana, on the other hand, looked at Kael's face with dreamy expressions.

"Worthy of a heroine," thought Kael, also looking at Ana.

Her light pink eyes seemed to contain a hypnotic glow, her bubblegum-colored hair fell down to her lower back, and her face was simply perfect. Like an 18-year-old, she exuded vitality and youth.

"Too bad her body still lacks," Kael clicked his lips, looking disapprovingly at her almost completely flat chest.

"Well, playing with her a little wouldn't be bad," with a mischievous smile, Kael decided to get a little closer to Ana.

Seeing Kael's body approaching her, Ana instinctively felt panic. "Could it be that he discovered she was secretly watching him?"

If Kael could read her thoughts, he would laugh out loud and say, "Was that direct stare at my face for over two minutes a secret glance?"

Kael stopped when he was two meters away from Ana, their eyes meeting. She had a look of panic, while Kael had a completely cold look.

The contrast was like seeing heaven and earth.

"I hope Miss Ana doesn't regret this decision later," he smiled, but his smile didn't reach his lips, while an aura spread through the room.

Ana was speechless, both by Kael's words and his released aura.

Everyone else was also stunned.

But before they could react, Kael had already turned away, causing his aura to disappear.

"HAHAHAHA, that's my son. He's finally awakened," a man laughed loudly, coming down the stairs with a radiant smile.

Looking at the man in front of him, Kael didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Hello, Father," he greeted casually, remembering this father both from his memories and from the information in the novel.

His father, Zyrlas, nodded, still wearing a radiant smile. But looking at his son's expression, he knew it was better to postpone their conversation until another time.

After all, as his father, he knew that Kael had left and now returned completely changed.

Kael knew he had to give him an explanation, so he nodded and walked past him, climbing the stairs under everyone's gaze.

"Did you sign so quickly too? Anyone would think you were the one who proposed breaking off the engagement," Eleanor said, stepping out of the shadows.

Kael laughed. Looking at this woman's figure, she was indeed magnificent, with flawless skin, long blue hair, ocean-colored eyes, and a toned, mature body, with a neckline that seemed about to spill out of her nightgown and firm buttocks.

"Soon I won't just be watching," Kael thought, but first, he had to get serious.

[Mission: Convert Raquel to your woman]

In front of him was the panel for his next mission.

"I accept."
