Chapter 28 - Chapter 27:The chalk war

The classroom was unusually noisy that afternoon.

The teacher had stepped out for a few minutes, leaving the students to finish copying notes from the board.

Most of them were already distracted, talking and laughing among themselves.

Riya sat quietly in her seat, focused on finishing her work

before the teacher returned.

She ignored the chatter around her, determined not to get involved in whatever chaos the class might create.

Unfortunately for her, Lakshith had other plans.

From the back of the classroom, he whispered something to the boy sitting beside him.

The two of them glanced toward Riya and began laughing quietly.

Riya pretended not to notice.

A few seconds later, something small landed on her notebook.

She looked down.

A tiny piece of chalk.

Riya slowly turned around, already knowing who the culprit was.

Lakshith sat there with an innocent expression, trying very hard not to smile.

"Did you throw this?" she asked sharply.

Lakshith shrugged. "Throw what?"

"The chalk!"

"Oh… that?" he said casually. "Maybe it fell from the sky."

The boys around him burst into laughter.

Riya narrowed her eyes. "You're very childish."

"Thank you," Lakshith replied proudly.

Riya turned back to her notebook, deciding it was better to ignore him.

But only a few seconds passed before another tiny chalk piece

landed on her desk.

This time she stood up immediately.

"Lakshith!"

He looked up, pretending to be confused. "Yes?"

Without saying another word, Riya picked up the chalk and tossed it straight back at him.

The classroom erupted with laughter as the chalk bounced off his shoulder.

Lakshith looked surprised for a moment before grinning widely.

"Oh, so you want to start a war?"

"It's not a war,"

Riya said firmly.

"It's self-defense."

Lakshith leaned forward in his chair.

"Then don't complain if I win."

Within seconds, another chalk piece flew through the air.

Riya dodged it quickly and threw one back at him.

Soon, the small chalk fight turned into a full classroom spectacle.

Students were laughing, cheering, and watching the battle like it was the most entertaining event of the day.

Just as Lakshith prepared to throw another piece, the classroom door suddenly opened.

The teacher walked in.

Everyone froze.

Chalk pieces were scattered across the floor, and Lakshith was still holding one in his hand.

The teacher slowly looked around the room.

"Would someone like to explain what is happening here?"

The entire class pointed at Lakshith and Riya at the same time.

Riya crossed her arms and glared at him.

Lakshith scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

And for the first time that day, both of them were completely silent.

"He was the one who started it mam"

"No she was the one who threw chalk on me mam"

"No he was the one"

"No she was the one"

"Ok both of them stop fighting !!!

Nowadays kids are so mischievous

Lakshith you're a new student and Riya you're such a disciplined girl...

But you both were fighting huh???"

Teacher thought for a while,

"Ok as a punishment both of

them get out"

They both shocked...

"Mam..."

Riya dragged her voice.

"No excuses....Get out of my class"

They both went out....

"It's all because of you lakshith idiot!!!"

"Ok sorry....."

"Oh you know how to apologise huh??"

Lakshith looked away

avoiding her gaze.
