Chapter 27 - Chapter 26:The unexpected rival

Riya had always been

the talkative girl in class.

In a room filled with laughter, chatter, and restless energy,

But most of the time she was the one sitting near the window, quietly observing everything around her.

It was not that she disliked school, but she had grown used to being alone.

She doesn't had any permanent friends and sometimes,

It does felt right to be alone then bring with the fake ones,

who always talk with her when they needed something but ignores her afterwards.

At home, the atmosphere was often distant and silent, and somehow that silence followed her even into the classroom.

Most of her classmates barely noticed her presence until they needed something from her.

Teachers often scolded riya for talking too much, but that never seemed to bother her.

She would complete her work, answer when the teacher asked questions, and spend the rest of the time lost in her own thoughts.

For Riya, being unnoticed

had become normal.

That routine, however, slowly began to change when Lakshith entered her daily life in the most unexpected way.

Lakshith was nothing like her. He was energetic, playful, and constantly surrounded by friends.

He was the kind of student who could make the whole class laugh with a single joke.

One afternoon, during a break between classes, Riya heard laughter coming from the desks behind her.

When she turned around, she saw Lakshith sitting with the one person she disliked the most in class.

That classmate who would tease riya for no reason.

As both he and lakshith teamed up,

Unfortunately for Riya, she soon became their favorite target.

"Why are you always sitting alone?"

Lakshith suddenly asked, leaning forward with curiosity in his eyes.

Riya frowned immediately. She had been quietly writing in her notebook, and the sudden question irritated her.

"That's none of your business,"

she replied, turning back to her work.

The boy beside Lakshith chuckled.

"See? She's always like this."

Lakshith rested his chin on his hand, studying her reaction with amusement.

For some reason, teasing her seemed far more entertaining than joking with anyone else.

From that day on,

it became almost a daily routine.

Lakshith would find small excuses to start conversations with her, but those conversations usually turned into arguments within seconds.

If he commented on how quiet she was, she would respond with a sharp remark.

If he joked about something she did, she would glare at him as if she wanted him to disappear.

The rest of the class often laughed whenever their arguments started.

To them, it was simply another funny moment in the classroom.

But for Riya, Lakshith had become the most annoying person she had ever met.

Yet strangely, despite how much he teased her, Lakshith never seemed truly mean.

His tone always carried a hint of playfulness, as if he enjoyed their small fights more than anything else.

And although Riya would never admit it, she had started noticing something unusual.

Out of everyone in the classroom, Lakshith was the only one who seemed to pay attention to her every single day.

At that time, neither of them realized that those childish arguments and teasing moments were quietly becoming the beginning of a connection that would stay in Riya's heart for many years to come.
