SOMETIME LATER,
I found myself in the bathroom, droplets of water rained down my head like warm ointment - it was heaven on earth, the water was warm, the soap moist - it was like nothing I had ever experienced.
Moments later, I opened the door to the bathroom and stepped outside, I picked up a towel from the towel bar which was just next to me - I wiped my body and let out a reposeful sigh
'ahh' it was truly pleasant, a hot shower bath was exactly what I needed to cool down..
I returned the towel back to the rail and put on my clothes. I took a few steps towards the window and took a careful look at myself..
My eyes seemed to change from its grayish color to a rather lively black pigment and not only that, even my anatomy seemed to change too - I added a little weight, my complexion also changed from - the pale dried skin, to a more bright and healthy one.
"Was this also an effect of the void fruit" I thought to myself, in the original timeline the only effect I wrote concerning the void fruit was the aspect of voidblood increment nothing else.
So why did my body change so rapidly - was it because I blacked out for so long, actually the other day, I was told by one of the nurses that I was asleep for two whole days, did my body heal and improved itself during that time, well there were cases of "restorative sleep" happening to patients though, maybe this was one of them.
"Well, anyhow progress is progress", I nonchalantly said paying no more attention to it.
I walked out of the ward room with total carefreeness, and got to the lobby - two ladies were standing there, along with other patients sitting on the couch across the other end of the lobby, amongst the two women, one was filled with worry, eyes sore from crying - the other was the exact opposite giving solace to the former.
The worrywart was none other than my mom- her eyes sore from crying, from a quick glance you could tell off the pain she had been going through; seeing her in this condition alone made my heart ache. The latter on the other hand, was the hospital nurse, who was finding it so hard to console my mom.
Mom! I cheerfully called out to her.
She turned, bewildered.
"J" she ran towards me, every step carried an heartfelt weight ..
As she approached me, I recalled it yet again, the agonizing undeserved death I wrote for this woman, tears gently rolled down my eyes.
She advance towards me and embraced me devoutly.
She slowly whispered into my ear "It's ok, dear no need to cry" I couldn't see her face but I could hear it too- her sobbing, I was almost choked, it was as though my own conscience itself was strangling me.
"How're you, are you ok?" she asked desperately.
"Yeah I'm ok" I sniffled, wiping the tears of my face.
"What do you say, how about we go home and I make you some pie" her gentle voice said.
I noded my head in agreement "yes".
We exited the hospital and headed straight for home.

We got to the entrance of the house and opened the door, the familiar creaking sound welcomed us again..
"Ah" I sighed within me, "home sweet home"
I made my way up the stairway, simultaneously mom got into the kitchen and started baking the pie.
I got to my room,sat on the bed.
Silence ruled.
and then I slowly summoned the dashboard
"..open"

"Well, good progress" I mumbled, with my voidblood at 22% I had about 80% chances of awakening as a level 5 descended or even level 4 if luck was on my side, naturally whatever rank you awakened solely depended on the amount of voidblood your cells could hoard.
Most descended usually awakened as level 6 above, it was rarity to see a level 5 because naturally your blood cells wouldn't be able to contain an high amount of voidblood, i.e 15% upward, but in some cases or rather in some humans it did and thus, it became rare to find them(and I was part of those bunch), but even as rare as it was some reasonable amount can still be found during every awakening ceremony- the rarest were usually from level 1-0, it was only once In a blue moon that some people are found to be awakened at those level and they were usually from a noble family and by noble I mean the "Five- great noble houses", yup that's how rear it was.
But, not like I cared, after all i wasn't goin' to even awaken at such a level, unlike some other novels were you would need to train and work on your skill before your awakening, I designed my novel a little differently, to put it simply - if your voidblood was pass the margin - which is above 10% you were good to go. And with my voidblood currently at 22% I needed not to stress to much.
'ah what luck' I laid on the bed, staring at the wooden ceiling
"J, come on down the pie is ready" mom's voice pierced through the door, I immediately stormed out of my room, running straight to the living room.
I quickly took my seat and immediately started gulping down the food with haste, like a ravenous wolf.
"Slow down boy or you'll choke" mom voice resounded with concern.
"Nah I wouldn't" I retorted nonchalantly
A blast of laughter echoed through the house.
"Hahahahahahahahha"
I stared at her for awhile; the awakening ceremony was near, but I paid it no mind for once, I just wanted to relax and enjoy a nice relaxing meal with mom.
And before Jaeger knew it the Awakening ceremony was already here.
