Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Werewolf Boss, Basic Skill Upgrade Stone

"I don't accept it!" John said coldly, his eyes sharp. Tom turned into white light and disappeared, leaving only a pile of gold coins. Another green leather armor also dropped.

Only Anna was left, pale and sitting on the ground, her face like death. She looked at John and said coldly, "Go ahead. I won't beg for mercy."

"Hmph, like I would let you live anyway," John said in disgust, and quickly killed her.

"John, you got a lot of good stuff," Aurora said excitedly. She picked up all the items that fell from the others and gave them to John.

She didn't care about this stuff at all.

Two green beginner gear, 36 gold coins-those were all from Tom.

That guy was like a money-giving kid. Last time he gave John a blue item, and now he gave even more good stuff.

"Let's go. Keep leveling up," he said, taking the loot and casting Physical Damage Amplification again. He headed to the 10-level werewolf area.

"John, are we leveling up too fast? I feel like I can get to level 10 today," Aurora said as she followed behind him.

"Is leveling up too fast a bad thing?" John said in disbelief. He had never heard of someone complaining about leveling up quickly before.

Aurora said, "After I get to level 10, will you still take me with you?"

John shook his head. "I have other things to do."

"Oh. Is it to kill students from Karlove Academy? I can help you," Aurora said excitedly.

"No. There's a dangerous hidden quest. Once I finish it, I'll take you up after I leave the starting village," John said. He actually liked this girl, and he also needed her help to switch to Life Priest.

"Okay," Aurora said, her small face full of sadness.

Soon, the two arrived at the werewolf area. There were lots of werewolves around, but no players in sight.

John started his new killing spree.

His Physical Damage was now up to 515. He couldn't kill werewolves in one hit, but he could handle two or three at the same time without any problem.

[Overlevel kill on werewolf, experience +60]

...

The tips kept coming. John's experience was rising fast. He was now level 8, and the experience needed to level up was 20,000. He could definitely reach level 10 today.

A new player leveling up to 10 in three days? No one would believe it.

And that's with team experience shared. If it was just him, he could reach level 10 in two days.

Howl...

The howls of wolves echoed. John killed without mercy.

At this moment, his Physical Damage Amplification had gone up to 607. He could now kill werewolves in one hit, and his efficiency improved greatly.

"John, your damage is getting more and more terrifying."

"John, I think I know why your damage is so high. But I won't say anything."

Aurora wasn't idle either. She kept talking, but got no response.

She didn't care. She occasionally cast buff skills on John or cleaned up the battlefield.

In the game, normal monsters had low drop rates, but with John's massive killing, a lot of items still dropped.

Every time he killed a dozen werewolves, he got one or two copper coins. Occasionally, a white-level 10 beginner gear would drop too.

"John, I reached level 9!" Aurora said happily.

"Not bad. I can take you to level 10 before dark," John replied, checking his own experience.

He had 20,000 experience at level 9, and needed 50,000 to level up.

Then Aurora's face fell again. She frowned and said, "John, when will you take me up after I reach level 10?"

"Wait until I leave the starting village," John said. He had important things to do and wouldn't leave the starting village for at least a month.

He had said he would make the graduation rate of this year's Karlove Academy students zero. He wouldn't let them off easily.

He would leave the starting village only after the graduation exam was over.

"Okay, then you have to keep your word," Aurora reminded him.

John nodded. His skill was on cooldown, so he cast Physical Damage Amplification again and kept killing werewolves.

Howl...

Suddenly, a long, echoing howl rang out. A tall and fierce werewolf appeared, holding a heavy broadsword. Its red eyes stared sharply at John.

"John, it's a werewolf boss!" Aurora quickly warned him.

John's eyes lit up. After two days, he finally found a boss.

He checked the werewolf's stats. It was a level 10 bronze boss. He could handle it.

"Roar!"

Another roar came, and the werewolf boss swung its big sword and rushed forward.

John didn't back down. He rushed in too.

Clang!

The swords met, sparks flying. John felt a sharp pain in his palms and took a step back.

His damage was high, but his Strength was too low. Facing the boss head-on, he couldn't block its attack.

Whoosh!

A dark shadow flashed, and the boss attacked again. Its speed was almost equal to his.

Puff!

-113

John's health number flashed on the screen.

But he had leveled up, and his HP was now 400. This damage didn't threaten him at all.

John felt more confident. He swung his sword and slashed at the boss.

Puff!

-452

A huge damage number flashed. The boss cried out in pain and looked at John, eyes full of fear.

The bronze boss had some intelligence. Its HP was only 1,000. John's single hit had taken away half of it.

This seemingly weak human was clearly far beyond its ability to handle.

Run!

The boss made its decision in an instant and turned to run.

"Want to run?" John saw through it and chased after him quickly, slashing with his sword.

Puff!

Another hit. The boss's HP was almost gone. It looked scared, screaming loudly.

The surrounding werewolves were disturbed. They roared and rushed toward John, trying to stop him.

But it was too late.

John caught up with the boss again and slashed it one last time. The last few HP were completely gone.

"Roar!"

The boss let out a painful cry, and fell dead in a pool of blood, dropping a purple stone beside it.

[Overkill 10-level Werewolf Bronze Boss, Experience +220]

John didn't have time to check what the boss dropped. He just put it into his pack.

At that moment, more werewolves rushed at him. He didn't fear them at all and started killing again.

In just a moment, dozens of werewolves were all dead. They dropped four copper coins and a white long sword.

"John, what did the boss drop?" Aurora ran over and asked, curious.

John had an idea. He took out the purple stone from his pack.

"It's a Basic Skill Upgrade Stone!" Aurora gasped and said in surprise, "This thing only drops from silver bosses above level 10. The chance of getting it from a bronze boss is really low. John, you're super lucky."

John was also surprised.

Players needed skill stones to level up their skills. Basic Skill Crystals could upgrade Basic Skills. Intermediate Skill Crystals upgraded Intermediate Skills. Advanced Skill Crystals were for Advanced Skills.

John looked at the two skills he had. He quickly chose to upgrade Basic Physical Damage Amplification.

[Beep, you used a Basic Skill Crystal. Basic Physical Damage Amplification skill level +1]

[Basic Physical Damage Amplification: Level 2; +2 Physical Damage, lasts 10 seconds, cooldown 2 minutes; costs 60 MP]

John was happy. His Physical Damage Amplification went from 1 to 2, doubling the effect.

But the MP cost also went up to 60. However, the 2-minute cooldown was enough for his MP to recover.

"Keep leveling up," John said. He cast Physical Damage Amplification again. This time, his Physical Damage went up by 2 points.

Howl...

The werewolves cried out in pain. They died under John's sword.

[Kill Werewolf, Experience +55]

[Beep, you reached level 10, gained 4 free stat points]

[You have reached level 10. You can no longer gain experience. Please leave the starting village and complete your class advancement as soon as possible]

The messages flashed. John finally reached level 10. He added the 4 stat points to his Constitution. His HP went up to 440.

"Aurora, how much experience do you need to level up?" He looked at Aurora and asked.

"I need over 30,000," Aurora checked the time and said, "John, it's getting late. Maybe we can continue tomorrow?"

"No, I'll take you to level 10 today," John said. He set the experience sharing to give all of it to Aurora.

With one person sharing the experience, killing werewolves gave 110 experience points. It would help her level up fast.

"Okay," Aurora said, looking a bit sad but still nodded.

John kept killing werewolves.
