Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Back to the Game, Tom's Revenge

The sound of water came from the bathroom. Isolde was brushing her teeth.

John was bored and browsing the local forum. To his surprise, there were a lot of posts about him.

"A World-Class Strongman Appears in the Starter Village, Killing Hundreds of Players Alone"

"The Unreachable Killer from Karlove Academy, His Real Job Is a Priest"

"A Neglected Class"

...

More than a dozen posts were all about him, discussing whether the priest class was the weakest support class.

Even some teams and guilds were trying to recruit priest players.

This made the priest players, who had been ignored before, become the focus of attention.

But soon they found out that it wasn't the priest class that was strong-it was John.

Then the bathroom door opened, and Isolde came out. She was wearing a loose nightgown, but her figure was still amazing. Her wet hair was spread over her shoulders, and she didn't have the confident look she had in the day. Instead, she looked more charming and soft.

She saw John sitting on the sofa and thought he was worried about danger. She said, "John, this place is safe. And my danger sense talent is still active even when I'm asleep or in the game. It will warn you the moment it senses danger."

She sat next to John, and a faint fragrance came to him.

John swallowed hard, feeling his blood rush to his face, his nose getting hot. He had an urge to throw Isolde down.

He quickly pulled his thoughts back and said, "Okay, teacher, I'll go to sleep now."

He hurriedly stood up and ran back to his room.

Isolde laughed sweetly, her voice full of teasing, "Such a clueless little boy…"

In the morning, John woke up early. He never liked to sleep in.

Isolde was still in bed. He made breakfast, checked the time, and it was almost eight o'clock.

He said hello, then went back to his room and logged into the game.

...

In the starter village, Aurora was sitting on a rock, her chin in her hands, bored and waiting.

"Little cutie, want us to help you level up?" Three players, all warriors, were attracted to her. They approached with a friendly offer.

Aurora just glanced at them and said coldly, "No thanks, I'm waiting for someone."

"Little cutie, we're really strong. We are level 5 warriors. You don't need to fight. Just cheer us on from behind." The leader of the group didn't give up. He showed off by lifting his sleeve and showing off his muscles.

At that moment, a flash of light appeared, and a figure appeared.

Aurora's eyes lit up. A smile appeared on her face, and she rushed forward, "John!"

"I want to see who that little pretty boy is!" The warrior looked angry and challenged, but when he saw John, his face changed.

"What the fuck, it's that killer! Run!" The three were scared and ran away quickly.

John looked at their messy and embarrassed backs, confused. He muttered, "Am I really that scary?"

He only attacked Karlove Academy players, and had never targeted any other starter players.

"John, what do you think? Now, who isn't retreating in honor when it comes to you." Aurora teased. "John, let's go level up."

"Okay." John nodded and directly invited her to join his party. He also cast a physical boost skill on himself to increase his physical damage.

The two left the starter village. John noticed that some players from Karlove Academy were running into the village in a hurry. Those who couldn't make it back in time just logged off right there.

John frowned. It looked like someone was watching him all the time.

He wasn't worried. He waited until he finished the hidden quest for the village chief. Once his game abilities became real, he'd deal with these guys.

Player levels were rising. The 3-level goblin area was already full of groups leveling up.

But the 5-level monster area was still empty of players.

Soon, the two arrived at the 5-level stone golem area. John suddenly stopped and pulled Aurora behind him.

Boom!

A fireball exploded where Aurora had just stood, sending waves of heat and flames.

"An enemy?" She jumped, hiding behind John and peeking out, looking around curiously.

"Hmph. Come out."

John sneered, speaking coldly.

From behind the rocks, six figures appeared-four guys and two girls. Two of them were familiar.

John smirked, eyes narrowing as he looked at Anna, who was almost clinging to Tom. A hint of disgust flashed in his eyes.

This woman had already moved on from Macbeth and was already with Tom.

"John, looks like they're all high-level players." Aurora whispered.

John nodded, not at all worried. He looked at Anna and said coldly, "So fast? You already dumped Macbeth? Got yourself a waste like this?"

"Kid, what did you say?" Tom clenched his fists, anger rising.

"Hmph." Anna snorted. "John, I have to admit I underestimated you. But you'll always be my toy. I told you I'd make you regret it. You'll pay the price!"

"John, this woman is really scary." Aurora frowned and whispered, but the group clearly heard it.

Anna finally noticed Aurora and was taken aback. The girl's beauty made her feel ashamed. She was almost as good-looking as Isolde. Even Tom looked completely smitten.

She was furious. She didn't understand how this guy-someone she had looked down on-had been surrounded by beautiful girls all of a sudden.

"John, you really are something." Anna gritted her teeth, her tone a bit bitter. "Yesterday you hooked up with some trash woman, and now you're with this wild girl."

"Hey, watch your mouth!" Aurora was angry. She had never been talked to like that in her life.

"What, you mad?" Anna smiled smugly. "Let me tell you, this guy you're with is just a piece of trash I threw away."

"Is that so?" Aurora didn't get angry at all. She smiled and said, "Then I should thank you. If you didn't have bad eyes, I wouldn't have ended up with John."

She said that, then leaned in and kissed John on the cheek.

John was blank. He felt like he had become just a tool.

"You…" Anna was furious. This girl had hit her weak spot. She had really been blind not to see John.

"Enough!" Tom snapped, especially when he saw Aurora and John being so close. He was even more angry.

He stepped forward and said coldly, "Kid, hand over the Green Jade Ring, and bow to me three times. Maybe I'll let you go."

Before John could speak, Aurora said coldly, "Old man, it's not even dark yet. What dream are you having? If you bow to me three times, maybe I can plead with John to spare your dog life!"

" bastard!" Tom roared, "Okay, I'll kill this kid first, then I'll take care of you, you little brat. Hope you don't kill yourself!"

He barked, stepped back, raised his staff, and started chanting.

Two warrior players rushed forward.

John smirked, a long sword appeared in his hand. With a casual motion, he slashed twice.

-555

-570

Two damage numbers flashed. Before the two even touched John, they turned into two white lights and vanished.

Instant kill!

Everyone, except Aurora, stood frozen, eyes wide. The two archers still had arrows on their bows. Tom even stopped chanting.

"Impossible…"

Tom looked like he had seen a ghost. Two days ago, John couldn't even break his defense. Now, two level 10 warriors were killed in one hit?

What the hell was this? A starter priest?

John continued to charge at the others.

"Tom, you're screwing me!" One archer screamed, trying to run, but it was too late.

In an instant, John appeared in front of him. Sword raised, sword fell. The man was instantly killed, and a green longbow dropped to the ground.

Pfft!

-41

John felt a sharp pain in his shoulder-an arrow had hit him. It was the other female archer.

At that moment, a green light flashed down, easing the pain. It was Aurora's healing spell.

John moved, rushed to the female archer, and killed her in front of her terrified face.

"Now it's your turn."

John looked at the stunned Tom, a playful look on his face.

Tom swallowed hard. He finally realized what was happening. A forced smile appeared on his face as he said, "ACE, John. It was a misunderstanding. I'll give you all the gold I have. Just let me live…"

He hurriedly pulled out his coins and dropped them on the ground, looking desperate, "John, this is all I've got. It's my apology."

Tom had been killed by John last time and dropped to level 1. He hadn't leveled back up yet. If he died again, he'd drop to level 8. He wouldn't be able to leave the starter village for a while, and he'd lose the ability to take any starter quests.
