Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Although My Life Is Short...

"This is the gift I'm giving you!" Amber pulled out two pairs of gray Wind Gliders from somewhere.

"People use these to move around in the air. I called you up here for this, you know."

"Can this thing make people fly in the air?" Lumine couldn't help but ask curiously.

"Of course not, it just allows you to glide down from a high place." Amber shook her head, then looked at the two, somewhat eager to try, "How about it, want to give it a try?"

"Then, let's try it." Lumine seemed very interested, but Stelle inexplicably felt like backing out.

Amber immediately demonstrated how to use the Wind Glider for them, leaping from a high place, then unfurling the Wind Glider in mid-air, and finally landing slowly.

The whole sequence of movements was very smooth; she was clearly an expert in this field.

"That's how it's done! You two try it too!" Amber, from below, waved to them, shouting from a distance.

"Stelle, why don't you go first?" Both of them were new to this, and flying together in the air was a bit dangerous. It would be terrible if they collided, so Lumine deliberately deferred.

"Uh, I…" Stelle looked at the Wind Glider in her hand, recalling Amber's movements, her face showing hesitation.

She wasn't actually afraid of heights; falling from this height wouldn't cause her much DMG.

But for some reason, her heart was pounding.

"Stelle, you're not afraid of heights, are you?" Paimon looked at Stelle, who hadn't moved, and deliberately teased him.

"Who's afraid of heights! I'm just recalling Amber's movements!" Stelle immediately flared up. Lumine was one thing, but how could he be mocked by a mere emergency food?

Stelle quickly climbed onto the small platform in front of him, looking at Amber waving to him below, he couldn't help but swallow.

"…"

After a moment of silence, Stelle turned around: "Lumine, if you leave this world in the future and encounter a train traveling between stars, please be sure to tell the people on board that I love them."

Stelle's face was filled with determination.

"Uh… Is that, a last will?" Paimon blinked. Her small brain processed it for a moment before she roughly understood Stelle's meaning.

"It's not that serious!" Lumine retorted speechlessly.

Falling from this height wouldn't be a big deal, especially with Amber waiting below.

"Alright, I'm starting, phew—" Stelle took a deep breath.

He looked up at the sky, then down at Amber in the distance.

"Although my life is short… Waaah?!"

Before he could finish speaking, Stelle felt a sudden strong gust of wind from behind, directly blowing him out.

He figured it was probably Lumine's doing, but he didn't have time to dwell on it now. He quickly unfurled his Wind Glider in mid-air, mimicking what he had just seen.

And then…

Everything went smoothly. He landed steadily beside Amber without any accidents.

"Huh?" Stelle looked up, a little confused.

The unease deep within him didn't disappear with his landing; instead, it grew more intense.

"Stelle, are you alright?" Amber asked with concern.

Stelle had performed the action perfectly, without any mistakes, and landed smoothly.

But after coming down, he looked as if he had been scared silly.

"I, I'm fine," Stelle touched his soft gray hair, also a bit confused.

"Are you really okay?" Amber asked again, still worried.

Her concern was absolutely genuine, Stelle could feel that, but… was Amber getting a little too close?

"I'm really fine. Look, Lumine is coming down now," Stelle quickly told Amber, temporarily shifting Amber's attention away from himself.

Lumine, from above, was unfurling her Wind Glider just like Stelle had done, gliding steadily in the air.

However, Stelle's sense of unease intensified with Lumine's movements.

The moment Lumine landed, Stelle's pupils suddenly contracted.

"Watch out!"

----------

The sky turned pitch black, and strong winds raged all around.

Stelle stood dazed in place, not fleeing with the few scattered Mondstadt citizens.

He looked at the sky, momentarily speechless.

Lumine, actually possessed such powerful strength. Was this also achieved by relying on the Anemo element?

"Stelle! Are you alright?!" Amber, who had just directed the citizens to safety, ran up to Stelle, looking at him with concern.

"I'm fine, but Lumine…"

Amber also looked up at the sky. Lumine was using the Wind Glider she had just obtained a few minutes ago to fight a giant dragon.

Lights kept "biubiubiu~" shooting from Lumine's body onto the giant dragon.

"Is that Lumine's power? It's amazing…" Amber looked on in surprise.

"Yes," Stelle nodded.

He couldn't use the elemental power of this world; he relied only on his own power as a Pathstrider.

So he didn't understand the Anemo element power on Lumine, but the power felt very strong to him.

The two of them couldn't do anything at the moment, only stand on the ground, waiting anxiously.

Fortunately, they didn't have to suffer for too long, and the outcome was also very good.

Lumine finally landed slowly in front of them.

"Are you alright?!" Stelle immediately rushed over, examining Lumine's physical condition from head to toe.

"Th-thanks, I'm fine," Lumine said quickly, her cheeks flushing as she saw Stelle so close.

At the same time, she subtly took half a step back.

The pull Stelle had on her was simply too strong; she had to maintain her distance.

"Lumine, you're amazing, just now…" Amber ran over, but before she could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by a round of "clap clap clap" applause.

The group immediately looked towards the source of the sound. A dark-skinned man with an eye patch was walking towards them.

"To possess the power to fight a giant dragon, are you our guest… or a new storm?" the man slowly spoke.

Stelle felt a strange sense of tension. This man somehow seemed extraordinary.

"Kaeya!" Amber immediately greeted him.

"Amber, could you introduce these friends to me?" Kaeya asked gently.

"Hmm, Stelle, Lumine, this is Kaeya, our Cavalry Captain." Amber nodded, immediately introducing them to each other.

"These three are Travelers from afar."

"Oh? Only know that they're from afar…"

Kaeya's words made Stelle feel a wave of tension. The two of them hadn't hidden their identities from each other, but they hadn't given these locals a detailed account of their origins.

Fortunately, Kaeya didn't press further. Instead, he performed a remarkably elegant knight's salute: "Welcome to Mondstadt, though it is regrettable that it's at such an unfortunate time."
