Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Can a Succubus Charm Herself?

Lumine actually wanted to refuse Amber's invitation.

She was afraid of accidents, especially Amber's last sentence, which had a strong sense of déjà vu.

Someone once seemed to have used a similar phrase to lure two people into their home.

One person followed the rule of sleeping when tired and escaped, while the other, relying on his bravery, was eventually forced to 'climb the ladder'.

Although Lumine didn't think Amber was that kind of person, with her constitution, it was hard to say what would happen if they shared a room.

But considering how late it already was, finding a place to stay might be difficult.

Besides, she only had a mere 5,000 Mora on her.

In the future, she might not just stay in Mondstadt for a day or two; she needed to save money well before going to the next place.

So in the end, Lumine still nodded.

As long as they didn't sleep in the same room, it should be fine... right?

Since Amber said her house was quite big, there should at least be two bedrooms.

Even if there weren't, she could sleep in the living room.

Lumine thought suspiciously, and at the same time waved goodbye to Lumine and Paimon with Amber.

After they parted ways, Amber's house wasn't actually too far from Hunter's Deer, and they quickly arrived at the entrance.

"Huh?" Amber looked at the key in her hand with some confusion.

"What's wrong?" Lumine asked, puzzled.

"I think I grabbed the wrong key... Sorry, I haven't lived here for a long time either," Amber smiled apologetically. Fortunately, she quickly found the correct key.

"Normally, for convenience, I also stay in the Knights of Favonius dormitory, and only occasionally come back here."

"I see," Lumine walked into Amber's house.

Anber's house was similar in style to other houses in Mondstadt, with two floors, and the bedrooms were probably all on the second floor.

Although Amber said she hadn't lived there for a long time, the living room was still spotless, showing no signs of having been uninhabited for a long time.

Amber must have cleaned it beforehand, right?

She heard Lumine say that Amber had separated from her for a while after returning from the temple.

"I'll pour you some water to drink, shall I? Sorry, I don't have coffee here..." Amber turned to Lumine and said apologetically.

"Oh, no need to trouble yourself, I'm not very thirsty," Lumine shook her head. Amber had also ordered drinks when they ate at Hunter's Deer earlier, and she had drunk quite a bit.

Although the taste couldn't compare to the special blend Diona made that she drank at Cat's Tail Tavern today.

"Alright then, I'll show you the room," Amber smiled and didn't insist.

"Mm."

Lumine followed Amber upstairs. As she expected, there was a guest room, and Lumine secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as she locked the door at night... "This is my room," After showing Lumine around, Amber opened the door to another bedroom.

Lumine looked inside, surprised by how simple it was.

It didn't even really look like the room of a vibrant girl like Amber.

Perhaps it was because she really didn't come back to live here often... Or maybe Amber just liked it this way?

A bed, a wardrobe, a table and chairs—nothing else, making it seem a bit monotonous.

Oh, there was also a rabbit doll on the table.

It even bore a slight resemblance to Amber.

Lumine inexplicably thought of March 7th's room on the train.

Compared to Amber's, March 7th was really good at decorating her room. There was even a conductor doll inside, and she wondered if the conductor had ever bothered about March 7th infringing on his likeness.

"This is Tutu Earl!" Amber stepped forward, picked up the doll, and introduced it to Lumine as if introducing a very good friend.

"...Hello, Tutu Earl," Lumine pondered for a moment, then politely nodded.

"Hmm? Are you saying hello to a doll? How cute!" Amber tilted her head, then said with a slight smile.

"..." Lumine awkwardly ruffled her hair.

Seeing Amber introduce Tutu Earl like that, she thought Amber, like those children, treated Tutu Earl as a real friend.

So it wasn't?

"Did you sew it yourself?" Lumine took Tutu Earl from Amber's hand and asked casually.

"Yes, isn't it cute?"

"Mm," Lumine nodded, surprised that Amber was quite skilled with her hands.

"If you like it, I can sew one for you too..." Amber smiled shyly, then remembered something and added, "Of course, it will be a specially customized version that won't explode!"

"Explode??" Lumine's hand, stroking Tutu Earl, instantly stiffened.

Are dolls in this world all so dangerous??

"Ah, don't worry, this one won't explode either."

"Uh, mm..."

---

"Lumine, is the water temperature okay?"

"Ah, it's fine... Thank you," Lumine called out.

Amber's house had a bathroom, and she also wanted to take a shower.

Unfortunately, she had no change of clothes. Amber's body type was different from hers, so she couldn't wear them at all.

So for a while, she would just have to make do with her original clothes.

Speaking of which, her clothes seemed to have an automatic cleaning function, so wearing them for a year or two should be fine.

"Hoo..." Lumine slowly exhaled.

Soaking in the water, especially hot water, felt very comfortable, and her whole body relaxed.

At this moment, she could calm down and think about the future.

Not the distant future, just tomorrow's plan.

Just now, she had asked Amber what kind of job would be good to find in Mondstadt.

Amber thought long and hard, finally suggesting registering as an Adventurer at the Adventurers' Guild.

After all, she was a Traveler and wouldn't stay in Mondstadt for long, so the Adventurers' Guild was a good choice.

This organization has branches in all seven nations of Teyvat, and while the tasks one can receive are varied and the income unstable, they also come with a certain degree of danger.

But she wasn't an ordinary person with no combat ability; even without a Vision, her strength was enough to handle things like Hilichurls and Slimes.

Moreover, the Adventurers' Guild's commissions weren't just about Defeat; there were also errands and the like, so it should be quite suitable for her.

So, her first step tomorrow was to register with the Adventurers' Guild, then see if there were any commissions.

After that… she would go see Diona. If she could earn some money, she would pay back the cost of yesterday's drink.

She didn't want to take advantage of Diona.

"Sigh…" she slowly sighed, getting out of the bathtub.

She washed for a long time but couldn't wash anything off; her body seemed spotless, with no peculiar smell, but rather a fresh scent she seemed not to have had before.

How could a normal person have a body fragrance? She hadn't really turned into a succubus, had she?

She glanced at herself in the mirror… then quickly lowered her head.

A blush instantly spread across her cheeks.

Even for just that one moment, she almost couldn't hold it in.

Only one thought filled her mind:

I look so good.

"A succubus shouldn't even be able to charm herself…" she murmured, standing still and calming down for a long time before quickly shaking her head and picking up a bath towel to dry her body.

It seemed she couldn't casually look in the mirror anymore, or who knows what kind of joke it would turn into.
