Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Tony's Gift

The idea of "fighting for guardianship" immediately appeared and was then rejected by Luca himself.

Not to mention, his mother Gina is only in a coma right now and hasn't reached the point of losing guardianship.

Although it currently seems highly probable that Gina will ultimately be diagnosed as being in a vegetative state.

However, even if it were to be enforced immediately, Dragan, his uncle with a history of gambling and drug use, would not be granted guardianship.

As long as this point is exposed, even if the court ultimately assigns guardianship to the Children's Welfare Bureau or a family trust fund, it will not fall into his hands.

Even if he were to gain guardianship, the company's shareholders would not allow such a person to manage the company.

'Perhaps, later, I should try to collect some medical synthetic items to try and wake Gina up.'

'If the Golden Finger truly aligns with my conjecture, there should be many technological items in the medical field.'

Putting aside this uncertain matter for now, Luca immediately shifted his thoughts in another direction.

'Where did Dragan get his confidence? How dare he so confidently believe he can influence the board of directors? He can't possibly be relying on kinship to wield decision-making power over those shares, can he?'

Aside from that, let alone influencing the board of directors, the entire company has nothing to do with him right now.

'Did he secretly acquire shares? And where did the money come from?'

Luca had seen too many gamblers and drug addicts like this in his previous life; he didn't believe such a person could turn their life around with that money in less than two years.

If he wasn't completely bankrupt and deeply in debt, Luca would have thought he had reformed.

'What methods did he use to convince other shareholders? Or is there someone backing him?'

Luca, who hadn't had much contact with company business, now had a thousand thoughts in his mind, but he still couldn't sort them out.

'It seems I can only wait for Samira to deal with this uncle first, and then see if I can pry some information out of him.'

Now, Luca was rather thankful that this idiot had voluntarily jumped out and exposed himself instead of secretly causing trouble in the dark.

This kind of brain-damaged guy, who could have remained hidden, chose to expose himself and challenge them.

'No, that's not right. This seems to suggest even more that someone is backing this guy.'

Just as Luca was rapidly thinking, the "tap-tap-tap" sound of high heels approached slowly from a distance.

At the same time, because of the farce just now, exclamations began to continuously erupt from the guests who should have already left.

Luca instinctively reached for his waist and quickly turned his head.

However, once he clearly saw who it was, his expression changed to one of confusion.

"Mr. Orange, hello. I am here today at Tony's request, specifically to pay my respects."

The person who arrived was tall and had a capable demeanor. As she walked, almost everyone's gaze was firmly fixed on her.

Even many people attending other funerals nearby cast their gazes here.

Of course, this was not due to her outstanding appearance, but rather more because of the visitor's identity.

The people attending funerals in this vicinity were either rich or noble, and many of them recognized the visitor's identity immediately.

The true manager of Stark Industries today.

"Ms. Pepper Potts?"

Looking at Tony Stark's official girlfriend, the famous Pepper, Luca spoke softly with a strange expression.

Pepper, in turn, scrutinized Luca's excessively young face, and a hint of tenderness flashed in her eyes.

In fact, she had indeed received instructions from Tony for this visit.

However, since she did not have a funeral invitation, Pepper had originally planned to meet Luca outside the cemetery and convey Tony's condolences.

It was only after noticing the commotion here just now that Pepper Potts ventured inside without prior arrangement.

However, upon arriving and seeing the scene of all the guests leaving on their own, and the lone, one-armed youth standing blankly before the tombstone.

Even Pepper Potts, a strong career woman known for her capable and decisive nature, couldn't help but feel pity at this moment, and her tone softened a few degrees.

"Tony told me that during the Battle of New York, you provided him with significant assistance."

"He sent me here this time, firstly, to express his condolences for the Orange Family family's misfortune, and secondly, to express his gratitude for your previous help."

Those guests who had previously harbored other thoughts due to Dragan's outburst just now, upon hearing Pepper Potts's words, all looked at Luca with envy.

This was the CEO of Stark Industries, and she was bringing the thanks of Iron Man Tony Stark himself.

One must know, even after Stark Industries closed its weapons division, and perhaps its relationship with the government and the Military was no longer as harmonious.

However, with Stark Industries' wealth, which could rival a nation, and its innovative breakthroughs in energy, it still remains among the small group of people at the very top of the pyramid today.

Moreover, Tony Stark's identity as Iron Man had truly and genuinely saved all of New York.

To gain his favor, a company of Orange Industries' size could be said to take off directly, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Luca himself, however, felt no excitement at this moment, as in his eyes, these were merely familiar movie characters from the original work.

Even though he was well aware of the power Pepper represented, he found it difficult to feel any reverence towards these "familiar strangers," and simply waved his hand politely, saying,

"It is already my honor that Ms. Potts could attend my father's funeral; there's truly no need for thanks."

However, looking at the polite young man before her, Pepper Potts merely shook her head gently and beckoned behind her.

Immediately, a slightly overweight man in a suit, carrying a long, rectangular briefcase, who looked more like a director than a bodyguard, came jogging over, panting.

The man was, of course, Tony Stark's personal bodyguard, Happy Hogan.

Happy handed the long briefcase to Luca and then remained silent.

Pepper continued softly,

"Tony has been tied up with post-disaster reconstruction work these past few days and truly couldn't get away. This is a gift he asked me to bring you."

Luca accepted the briefcase with some confusion, his face filled with bewilderment.

'A gift at a funeral??'

Seeing this, Pepper's gaze carefully swept over Luca's severed arm, and she said softly,

"You can open it and see. I think it should be helpful to you."

Although Pepper Potts's voice was not loud, she did not deliberately avoid others.

Many people now eyed the scene with surprise, wanting to crane their necks and look, to see what gift the famous Tony Stark had sent Luca, and even required Pepper Potts to deliver it personally.

However, out of politeness, these people could only stand still and crane their necks without moving.

Upon hearing this, Luca no longer hesitated.

He simply placed the briefcase on the seat, pressed the latch, and opened it directly.

Upon lifting the lid, right in the center of the gold and red padded interior of the briefcase, a… arm was conspicuously placed!

With delicate textures and perfectly simulated skin, aside from the reversed direction of the palm, it looked exactly like Luca's left hand.

If not for the dark, hollow interface at the elbow joint, Luca might even have felt that this was a real arm.

And more importantly.

This arm, in Luca's eyes at this moment, was actually emitting a faint White glow that only he could see!
