Not long after they left, Hanguang Zhe floated by. Qin Yue was lost in his thoughts and didn't notice him.
"What's making you think so hard?"
Qin Yue's eyes snapped up and he pinched his nose wearily.
"We need to talk"
Hanguang Zhe floated closer and hovered on the chair. Coincidentally, that was where Shen Yan had just been sitting.
Qin Yue stared at it for a while before looking away.
"Shen Yan told me he…wants to merge with you"
Hanguang Zhe paused imperceptibly before laughing softly.
"It is what it is I guess"
Qin Yue pursed his lips
"But if he absorbs you..."
"...I'll disappear."
The words were spoken so casually that Qin Yue almost wanted to punch him.
"You don't sound concerned."
Hanguang Zhe shrugged.
"What good would panicking do?"
Qin Yue frowned.
"Don't you want to keep existing?"
The ghost looked at him for a moment before laughing again.
"I've already existed for longer than I was supposed to."
He looked toward the ceiling.
