Julia — First-Person POV
The test in my trembling hands felt heavier than anything I had ever held. My chest ached, my stomach twisted, and my mind screamed for me to breathe, to think, to calm down—but I couldn't.
I was pregnant.
And not just anyone's child. Alan's. The thought hit me like lightning, shocking and impossible to ignore. Every memory of him—every heated touch, every whispered word in the dark—flashed through my mind.
I pressed my hands to my mouth, trying to stop the trembling. The room around me blurred. My heartbeat thundered in my ears.
"Alan… I…" I whispered, voice barely audible.
The moment he entered the room, I felt every worry, every fear, every desire collide at once. His eyes scanned my face, immediately registering something was wrong.
"Julia?" His voice was low, urgent, commanding. "What is it?"
I couldn't look at him. I couldn't find the words. I just handed him the test.
Alan's jaw tightened as he scanned it. For a moment, the world stopped. His breath hitched, and I could see the storm brewing behind his usually calm, controlled eyes.
Then his hands gripped mine, steadying me, grounding me. "It's… ours?" he asked, voice almost a whisper, filled with disbelief, longing, and something darker—possessive intensity that made my knees weak.
"Yes," I admitted, tears spilling over. "It's yours."
Ava — POV
From across the hall, I saw it—the test. Julia's trembling hands. Alan is standing so close. But I couldn't see the truth yet.
My mind raced. Kai's name kept echoing in my head. My heart constricted. If it was him… I could finally have a reason to claim him. To have Julia's place. To make him mine.
I didn't notice the small twist, the subtle way Alan's hand was holding her, the protectiveness in his eyes. Not yet.
Kai — POV
Kai had been watching from a distance, but he couldn't stay away any longer. Something felt off. The way Alan held her, the way Julia's eyes glistened—there was a secret he wasn't being told.
And then… he saw it. The test in Alan's hand.
His chest tightened, fists clenching. Anger. Confusion. Betrayal. Desire.
"No," he muttered under his breath. "It can't be…"
The thought that Julia could be carrying Alan's child—his rival's child—sent a fury through him he hadn't felt in years. Every nerve in his body screamed. Every pulse pounded like a warning drum.
He wanted to storm in, demand answers, take her by force if he had to. But he held himself back—for now.
Julia — First-Person POV
Alan pulled me into his arms, burying his face in my hair. His body was tense, protective, almost dangerous in the way only he could be.
"I'll protect you," he whispered against my temple. "And our child. No one… no one will hurt you. Not him. Not anyone. Only me."
The possessiveness, the love, the danger in his words made me tremble, heart racing, stomach twisting in every possible emotion.
I wanted to cry, to scream, to fall into him completely. But fear still lingered—fear of Kai's reaction, fear of Ava, fear of everything that had spiraled so far.
Ava — POV
I finally approached, my hands trembling, my chest tight. I had to know.
"What… what is this?" I demanded, voice sharp, accusatory. "Julia… who… whose child is this?"
Alan didn't answer immediately. He held me—Julia—closer, a wall between us and her. His gaze met mine, icy, protective, and terrifying.
"It's mine," he said flatly, voice low, unyielding. "Alan's. Our child."
My stomach dropped. My eyes widened. Fury boiled through my veins. This wasn't supposed to happen. I wasn't supposed to be pushed aside, not again.
Kai — POV
Kai's control snapped.
"WHAT?!" he shouted, voice echoing in the hall. His fists slammed against the counter, his body shaking with barely restrained anger. "No. This… this isn't possible. Julia… mine? No. Not his!"
Every instinct in him screamed. He wanted to storm forward, to grab her, to claim her—even if it destroyed everything around him. The jealousy, the rage, the obsession—it all boiled over, a storm waiting to break.
Alan didn't flinch. He just held Julia tighter, staring Kai down with a dark, dangerous edge.
"You stay back," Alan growled. "You don't touch her. Not now. Not ever. Understand?"
Kai's eyes blazed. Every muscle tensed. But he didn't move. Not yet.
Julia buried her face into Alan's chest, heart pounding like a drum. She was terrified, overwhelmed, exhilarated—and a part of her thrilled at the intensity surrounding her.
The room was a powder keg.
And we all knew—this revelation had just changed everything.
