Chapter 3 - Red Haired girl

Rin's POV

I was holding Mikoto's hand when we entered the classroom.

Her fingers were small and soft, but she held on tightly, like she was afraid I might disappear. I didn't mind. In fact… I liked it. The moment we stepped inside, the noise in the room dropped for half a second.

Then it started again.

The girls were staring.

I could feel their eyes on me—whispers, soft giggles, pretending not to look while clearly looking. The boys, on the other hand, looked like they wanted to stab me with their pencils.

Troublesome.

Mikoto didn't seem to care. She walked calmly to the back row and pulled me with her. We always sat there. Less attention from teachers. More freedom.

As soon as we sat down, she leaned her head against my shoulder like it was the most natural thing in the world.

The entire class froze.

I casually lifted my hand and started stroking her hair. Slow. Gentle. Her long black hair was smooth between my fingers.

A few boys clenched their fists.

One of them snapped his pencil.

Pathetic.

Mikoto's ears turned slightly red, but she didn't move away. Instead, she leaned closer.

The door suddenly slid open.

The teacher walked in, clearing his throat loudly.

Everyone scrambled back to their seats properly. Mikoto straightened up, though her shoulder still brushed against mine.

"Today," the teacher said, adjusting his glasses, "we have a transfer student."

The door opened again.

A small girl stepped inside.

Bright red hair. Long and wild like flames. Pale skin. Big eyes filled with determination.

She walked to the front of the class and bowed slightly.

"Hello everyone! My name is Kushina Uzumaki, and I will become Hokage one day!"

Silence.

Then—

Laughter.

"Hokage?" On of the boy said while laughing.

"You are an outsider and dream of becoming hokage?"

"Look at her hair!" A girl said.

"Red hair devil!" Another one replied.

"Tomato head!"

The laughter grew louder.

I watched her shoulders tremble, her fists tightened and her lips quivered slightly.

She was trying not to cry.

Before she could break down, I stood up.The chair scraped loudly against the floor.

The class went quiet instantly.

"Shut up," I said calmly and i narrowed my eyes slightly.

"Or I'll beat you." That was enough.

Silence swallowed the classroom.

Even the teacher didn't say anything.

Kushina slowly turned her head and looked at me.

Her eyes were wide.

Then… her cheeks turned red.

Ah.

"Troublesome." I thought seeing her blush. She quickly looked away and walked to an empty seat in front of us.

After class started, I could feel her glancing back at me every few minutes.

Mikoto noticed.

Of course she did.

During break, Kushina hesitated for a while… then turned around.

"Th-thank you," she said, looking at me but then quickly glancing at Mikoto.

Mikoto smiled gently. "You're strong."

Kushina puffed her cheeks. "Of course I am! I'm going to be Hokage!"

Mikoto giggled.

And just like that, they started talking about food, academy and random things.

Kushina kept trying to include me in the conversation.

I answered with short replies.

"Hm."

"Maybe."

"Not sure."

She seemed slightly frustrated at the end of the day.

The next day was same she followed me everywhere and asked me to show her the Village.

Why isn't she leaving me alone?

I'm an Uchiha.

The village is already watching our clan carefully. And she… she's is Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki.

Getting too close to her is asking for trouble.

But she doesn't understand that.

She just smiles and talks like everything is simple.

By the time class ended, I let out a quiet sigh.

Mikoto stood up and naturally took my hand again.

We started walking out.

I could feel Kushina staring at our joined hands.

She took a small step forward… like she wanted to follow.

But in the end, she stopped.

Good.

Less complications.

MC's POV

I leaned back in my chair inside the police headquarters, watching the floating book in front of me.

I opened the book earlier, but it hadn't updated. After waiting a few seconds, the pages finally shifted on their own.

Chapter 25.

As I read it, I slowly lost interest.

It was mostly romance between Rin and Mikoto, some Small interactions., some Emotional tension and Jealousy.

Boring.

But useful.

The important part was Kushina and her attachment to Rin had started.

Good.

The more emotionally entangled the transmigrator becomes, the easier it is to manipulate him.

Soon the academy day ended in the story, and Rin returned home.

At the same time, I finished my shift and walked back to the Uchiha Police Station.

The air inside was serious as always.

"Hey," a deep voice called out.

I turned.

A man in his forties approached me, he was Tall and have Scar across his chin. One of the senior officers.

"Where were you?" he asked. "I didn't see you the whole day."

I kept my expression calm.

"It's nothing, Captain. I was patrolling near the academy."

He frowned slightly.

"That's not your usual position."

I nodded.

"I thought it would be better to keep an eye on the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki. Just to make sure no clan members approach her carelessly."

He studied my face for a few seconds.

Then he nodded slowly.

"That's… reasonable."

There was always tension between the Uchiha and the village. Being cautious around the Jinchūriki made sense.

"Still," he added, "you should report this directly to the clan leader."

"Understood."

I turned and walked toward the main building where the head of the guard department worked.

Every step echoed slightly in the quiet compound and as I teach him and told him everything he just asked me to keep and eye on mikoto and rin.
